womanforwoman, that probably is not a good idea either. If you have been on this board long enough, you will see the countless cases of people who were older than these two make some pretty poor choices in regards to dealing with children.

I guess what is needed is a better social services network to help people in this situation. The question I really want to ask is, if the girl is 18 and sneaking off to a hotel with her boyfriend, and they couldn't take care of the baby, it is obvious that she must live at home or with some other adults. Why then, have they not come forward? Or did they even know that an 18 yr old girl living with them was one day fat and the next not fat? I say that becuase I am just assuming that she is probably like the typical Jgirl that age with a small body. Seeing a gain in weight would not be an easy thing to miss. How could they not notice someone with them being pregnant. I guess they just didn't care of do not want to get involved.

It's a mix between how can we raise her, we don't have money, we don't care and we prefer to keep on partying for the next years. Such cases are always a reflection of the society. Come on, they're guilty, even if they put it somewhere, they could call somebody (police, hospital) then. J Juniors are looking fully grown up, when they are around 16 to 20, but from the inside they are still trully children don't know how to handle any situation, which causes probably problems. It's the point, where school should start helping them to become self-dependant of whatever they do. Parents don't teach them...

This is what you call unnatrual affection. How could a mother or father allow their baby to die alone in the rain, I couldn't imagine doing such a thing? All they had to do was go to the nearest baby hatch.... I think they should got to jail for a long time. R.I.P baby......

Baby hatches should be at every convenience store across Japan so kids like this have other options. A Japanese 18y/o has the emotional logic of a 10y/o. In their own minds I'm sure they thought they were doing the right thing. As much as they should be punished, society should wear most of the blame for these kids being in a situation where they thought this was the best course of action. Sad end for the baby, but hopefully, there will be some good come from a bit of public awareness.

Too bad the adult age has not been changed yet. These two adults should be punished to the full extent of the law. They should be tried as adults and their names made public. The baby died a slow death. I think they should spend 20-30 years on death row and then hanged by the neck until death. The End.
