....... but murder among family members have increased.

People make claims like this on JT all the time.

No one has ever actually supported the claim mind you.

Well if domestic violence is increasing it wouldn't be a farfetched notion that domestic murders are also increasing in Japan because they can be the same thin sometime!

Despite Japan’s low crime rates, it’s seen a number of mass stabbings in the past decade

it is very understandable no one wants to get infected and die and even wrongdoers don't want it.

My English teaching buddies, have compiled a list of crimes they have experienced this year alone, i.e property damage , girlfriends underwear stolen, discrimination, etc But I know censorship will not allow it, nor posting a link to that discussion website.

@pudus, yeah I have had my bike knocked over plenty of times at bike parking places, one time the mirror was broken, and another the rear wheel rim was cracked. I caught one old guy messing with my bike, but he ran.

gee willikers, and lets not forget the ones who aren't caught, or will after a long stretch, like that elderly sneaky

"graphic designer" on suspicion of property destruction, spray-painting graffiti for over 30 years.

The criminal sneaky ones, are a huge menace.

Wow, crime wave!

and in the USA:

Tired of burying our children': 4 toddlers shot in Chicago amid surge in gun violence

Of course what this really means is "reported" crime.

But, you know, some "crimes" are not really, and some of them being reduced is not, I think, a good thing at all. Its kind of like saying "oppression" and "repression" are up, and basically, they are.

I would rejoice if pot smoking, home brewing, and (small time) tax evasion were up but the cops were failing to catch anybody for them.

Lot of crime in Japan left not being reported, those crime that being reported sometimes not being follow up properly.

@Strangerland ..........

Thank you Silvanfan. Been off line for a couple days. Boy, talk about happiness. Appreciate the research you did. Thought my comment was common knowledge to JT readers.
