12 Comments

Police in Nishi-Tokyo said Sunday they are looking for male cyclist who got into an argument with a woman after running into her and then struck her with a blunt object.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 4 a.m. Saturday. Fuji TV reported that the 35-year-old woman was walking home when a man riding a bicycle came up behind her so close that her clothes got caught up in the bike, forcing the man off his bike.

The woman told police the man, who appeared to be in his 60s, shouted at her and struck her on the head with a blunt object before riding away.

Police said the woman suffered head injuries that will take about two weeks to heal.

That woman didn't deserve that. It was an accident. I hate woman-beaters, no matter what color, nationality or creed.

LoL, whatever do you mean? It's not okay to beat on anyone who doesn't have it coming.

A collision at 4 a.m.? Can't image there was much traffic at the time.

I hope they find that pathetic old fart, and give him a good whack upside the head. What disgusting behavior.

@JeffLee "A collision at 4 a.m.? Can't image there was much traffic at the time." some late night ryders; perhaps can be very combative here. Hope the cyclops catch the perp.

@Pukey2

Your comment would be relevant in a non male dominated nation.

Read the article carefully. The rider came so close to the woman that her clothes got caught in the bike, which forced the man to get off. The man shouted at her, bashed her head with something and then rode off. My conclusion. The man was drunk. If he were drunk he should not have been riding the bicycle. Hitting the pedestrian is bad enough. Bashing her was worse only because he caused no serious injuries with bicycle.

Yes, given the wee hours of around 4 a.m., chances were high that the man was a little drunk and emotional. In any case, he shouldn't have struck her. Let alone a blunt object. Hope the police achieve early arrest of the suspect.

These sidewalk bicycle riders here can have a misplaced sense of territoriality. Ive had them yell at me after trying to pass from behind on crowded sidewalks,while I was wearing headphones and not listening out for their little bicycle bell, brushing up against me in the process. Needless to say they get an earful in return.
