Fine seek the death penalty. But if you get the conviction, ensure the sentence is carried out in a timely manner! Dont wait until the guy is 90 years old!

I don't understand why the man who did such a horrible thing is living. I will never forgive him regardless of the penalty he receives."

No one could sum it up better than the mother of one of these 19 innocent victims callously slaughteted by an individual who knew exactly what he was doing.

A length of rope is simply the only solution to punish this monster.

He deserves nothing less and may his wait to receive it be long at least 10 years would be sufficient..

He's a monster who chose defenseless people. He's a coward as well. I will not gravedance nor celebrate his sentence or eventual execution as I don't rejoice over anyone's death, but I will certainly not shed a tear for him.

Fantastic. Let’s hope it’s given to him and he hangs for it.

Sometimes one gets what they wish for as I recall he said he wanted the death penalty. You got it Toyota.

As rgcivilian noted - Uematsu has declared himself in full control of his faculties, acknowledgement of his heinous acts and wish to be caught.

He has been given a stage to further fuel his notoriety and to be granted his wish to die - not for his sins, but for what he pushes as "civil" actions.

No doubt capital punishment was any deterrent for the likes of him. In fact it propelled him.

And can his defense lay off the drug induced psychosis brought on by marijuana use. The chances of any usage bringing on a Charles Manson like hallucinatory horror delusion - and that's what it would be to kill so many - is so remote.

I know their job is to defend, but their argument is piffling, esp when he denies any attempt to paint him as insane. All this does is demonize out of proportion to the masses, a recreational substance to millions as a killing agent.

Hang him. Quickly. Just wasting oxygen till then.

One more murder won't bring back all these innocent people.

His actions were disgusting, but so are the calls for violent retribution.
