A man under arrest, who was temporarily released to attend a family member's funeral, has been recaptured after three days on the run, Nara prefectural police said.
Hideki Iida, 50, who was arrested for unlawful possession of stimulant drugs, was temporarily released last Saturday in order to attend his brother's funeral in Sakurai, Nara Prefecture, Fuji TV reported. However, he fled when he was on the way back to the police station with his lawyer.
Police handed out flyers and a report was made to police at around 4:30 pm on Tuesday, saying that there was a person who looked like Iida in a parking lot near a train station in Yamatotakada City. When police arrived, they found Iida alone. He was wearing a white jacket, blue jeans and sneakers, which were different from the clothes he had on when he escaped.© Japan Today
