Doctor arrested for filming up girl’s skirt

Police in Kashihara, Nara Prefecture, have arrested a 38-year-old doctor on suspicion of taking an upskirt video of a 17-year-old high school girl on a train station escalator.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 8 p.m. on Friday, Sankei Shimbun reported. Police said Masanori Furukawa, a doctor in the gastroenterological medicine department at Nara Medical University Hospital, is accused of standing behind the girl on the escalator at Yamatoyagi Station and using his smartphone to film up her skirt.

The girl told police she sensed something strange was going on behind her and turned her around and saw what Furukawa was doing. She called out for help from station staff.

Police said Furukawa has admitted to the charge and quoted him as saying he gets turned on by seeing high school girls’ underwear.

Why is it that Japanese people think doctors are infallible beings?

Creep like TLC

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Creep like the ones we don't need being doctors or in society.

Serious question, what are they expecting to see? Underwear at best, I doubt any JP teen girls go commando.

Unfortunately, he's likely wealthy and didn't actually touch the girl which means he'll probably be out quite soon.

And he’s a doctor? It’s far behind time Japan created a national sex offenders’s list. This creep should never be able to practice again.

Just like going to the strip club, look but don't touch. Same if high school girls'underwear is his thing, just look at it. Why the need to film?

Since she's a minor, I hope he also gets slapped with child pornography. But we all know he'll just get a slap in the wrist.

Well, putting his wrist out of commission will probably throw his immediate plans out of wack.

I hope the doctor has never been married. I couldn’t bear to imagine what his wife and children would have thought of him.

Sex offenders register.

Good on this brave schoolgirl for alerting the authorities on the spot. Most women do not, probably due to shock and fear.

I hope this Furukawa scum who did this is detained for months and loses his career. He is unfit to ever deal with patients again.

They should keep a running count in Japan.

Who gets busted the most for garbage like this? Teachers, doctors or police officers?

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

There are quite a few maladjusted doctors in Japan - most of their formative lives they are prepping to pass exams and don’t get out much…

only a remote diagnosis, nothing else

Agreed. Considering the shortage of medical staff, here & abroad, and Japan’s recurrent shortage of hospital beds, there will be a ‘standard public apology’ bu administration since his specific facility was so prominently ‘shamed’ along with him:

“We humbly regret there was such an incident regarding a staff member. We will endeavor to educate staff and insure there is no recurrence within the facility or the local community.” -

Note the final paragraph of the article.

To a certain degree it is fortunate this pervert is not cunning enough to get away with his crimes, hopefully he did not see many young girls as patients in his practice.

Why the need to film?

Because he's going to upload it somewhere.

I feel sorry for this guy

While I agree it’s long overdue for Japan to have a sex offenders registry, I’m not convinced this act would make him a sex offender.

The link you provided states "crimes against children".

Not really news, but just think of all the times Doc Perve got away with it! And "upskirt" should not even be an adjective.

What, you think only Japanese are the only people who think this?

Although he will most likely get off lightly by the law, his name has gone public. In a small community such as Japan, news of his crime will spread rapidly. Disgrace and dishoner will fall on himself, employment and family. The ultimate sentence. He will pay dearly for his crime through shame that he committed.

After the fallout settles down he will be back to his old tricks again with the exception of being a bit smarter and hence harder to catch. Sexual habits are notoriously hard to break/control.

I am not surprised.

How many times has he done this before?

They need a forensic computer specialist to scour his phone, computer and online accounts to track down how many times he has done this and then bring it up in court. The shame he brings upon himself, his family and his practice would likely be unbearable.
