Elderly man found dead with face wrapped in duct tape

Police in Shirosato, Ibaraki Prefecture, are investigating the murder of an elderly man whose body was found at the storage site of the antique business he ran. Fuji TV reported that the man's face was wrapped in duct tape with blood having seeped through it.

The victim was identified as Takei Kudo, a 77-year-old antique dealer. Police said his 54-year-old Thai wife found the body at around 8 a.m. Monday.

Police said an autopsy revealed that Kudo died from having been beaten repeatedly about the face.

I dont think they shouldve included his wife`s nationality. What is the importance?

When you reach 60 in Japan you are considered elderly. Shameful thoughts. RIP

Sounds like a mob hit to me. I wonder if he refused an offer he couldn't refuse.

Many foreign women marry older Japanese men for financial security and immigration status

Who would benefit from his death?

Exactly! I think it makes it easier for some to point the finger or at least suspect her. Oh well... they're not about to stop doing it.

In any case, I'll bet it was something to do with yaks, given the way he died -- that, or some crazy son/daughter who might have found out dad was going to leave the business to a wife (almost) the same age. Pretty hard to tell, though, without anything more to go on, obviously.

Just saw your post after writing the first part of mine. Agree it's very suspicious.

What on earth does that matter when the guy was 77?
