Another bureaucrat doing wrong?
The list is long…

Cant consent if you are drunk.
Drinker's remorse ?

I'm still unclear on what this "official residence" is, as I was when I read the initial article when he was first arrested.
Do prosecutors get free government-provided housing?

At age 64, he was still sexually active. Amazing.

This is a difficult trial, as the jury has to decide the borderline between consensual sex after a few drinks (his story) vs sexual assault while being too drunk to consent (her story). This took place 6 years ago, so impossible to prove anything.
garypen
Not impossible to prove, if there were witnesses to her state of inebriation.
timeon
true, but I doubt there were other persons around such late at night. And judging somebody's state of inebriation is not always easy. But if there will be a follow up to this story, maybe we will be updated on the evidence

He didn't prosecute financial ministry executives who ordered illegal tampering public documents, and it hindered revealing relation with the then Abe government.
Somehow, this his misconduct had been not revealed until now.

True, but since false reports are extremely rare (around 3% I think) and underreporting is extremely common (95% go unreported) what's your bet she's telling the truth?
GuruMick
3% are false reports. ? What now ?
How can this be determined ?
Are 97% of cases ending in conviction ?
Doubt it.
What I dont doubt is some people throwing out "research claims ' without proof.
15.6 % of posters do this.

I think because he is probably someone of wealth that he could have another residence such as an apartment or house elsewhere (Tokyo for example) that he may stay at part of the time or he could be living at another address part of the time. The statement of “official residence” most likely means where he legally consider his home address.
