I wanted to be the No. 1 (host) at my host club

Pile of human fesses!

The women likely is still madly in love with the host. There’s no way she reported as most are just willing to do anything for their hosts.

These type of arrangements is actually the norm. The vast majority of prostitutes and av stars, including famous ones, are deeply in debt to host clubs. What they fail to mention is the interest rates, where 10% per month is very common. However, I dont think any ever have any regrets or are unwilling to pay their hosts.

Send that loser hosto clown to jail !!!..

A while back there was an article saying that one segment of the economy in Japan is not about to collapse, and this would be the "night entertainment" industry. Probably why no one in the gov wants to lift the lid too badly.

She was not forced. She could have just obtained a normal role at a normal company. Could have worked at a convenience store. A fast food establishment. Taught Japanese. Any number of ways to bring in that hard earned cash.

"I wanted to be the No. 1 (host) at my host club, so I forced her into prostitution," the suspect was quoted as telling investigators after his arrest over the weekend.

You can be the number 1 most handsome piece of meat in jail, I'm sure the other inmates will love you. I'm pinning this on the host and not on the woman since they guy probably manipulated and used the girl's feelings to his advantage.

Anyone who is familiar with the host knows that this is the normal strategy. Most of the customers in host clubs are women currently working in the hostess industry or sex industry. They are in the profession either before going to host clubs or after going to host clubs.

It is hard to attract lots of wealthy women to constantly come to the club unless the women believe that they are in a monogamous relationship with the host. That is hard to do with most wealthy business oriented women. They will demand more attention and their patience is limited. Once in the relationship, they will not want to come to the club. That lowers the club's bottom line. These wealthy women have more options in modern times. They could just pick up a better foreign on the cheap.

It is easier for host clubs to attract gullible young women with little income and trap them with enormous debt. Then they can pimp them out. That will provide a long term steady stream of income. They can generate more income with multiple women by trapping one woman and move on to the next. Also, some of those women will be foolish enough to return to the club once the debt is paid.

If you visit Kabukicho, it is suppose to be this seedy place with a vibrant red light district. There is some truth. In the center of Kabukicho, they are all these teenage oriented places like movies theaters, krispy kreme, family restaurants, shopping, (former Robot Restaurant), and etc.

Some may argue that it is to attract tourists to Kabukicho. That may be true to some degree, but it is also used to attract young people particularly young women to scout. When all those tourist places close in the evening which are pretty reasonable hours 9-10PM. The young people are just hanging out until the last train, and some stay all night. There are some who may also be runaways with no place to go. That is primetime for scouts.

She should have went to the police! Though she may have had a tab at the place, I know she would have settled for a monthly payment plan from her paycheck. But these..........I don't even klnow what to call these disgusting excuses thought to boost their selfish and stupid reputation pimpin' her out to pay her bills was the best idea! I can just imagine how horrible and disgusted she must've felt everytime she had to go to one of these places.

I think the police should set their punishment to 127,000,000 yen and have her parents pimp these buttflaps out to pay for their punishment!

Obviously you've never met anyone with a HIGH BILL at these places who can't pay. Imagine a 5ft. 1in. 20 something year old in a danky room with the tuffs who are yelling and screaming at her! They take you to a room with the big guys! Yakuza types (or wannabes). They intimidate you, humiliate you, threaten you, your family, friends, co-workers, take you to the ATM and drain your account, whatever they can to make you submit and then they give you your ONLY option. And since she's a young woman in her 20s in that vunerable state of mind anything they commanded her to do, she would've done it. For men, they get extemely physical. We have to deal with the remains of the ones who couldn't pay.

Sorry, but she is definitely NOT forced. Host club customers are extremely loyal to their hosts and are willing to do anything to give their hosts more money. In the Japanese articles the word “coerced” was never used. Most host clubs are linked to deri-heru etc, with many deri-heru owners ex-hosts etc. This is in fact common practice. At most the guy just recommended her a place.

This was only a case because the shop was caught for something else, but the girl never reported. At most the guy gets charged with some employment law, but I can guarantee you that the girl would just change to another night job to support him no matter what happens, and he can be assured that even if he gets a few weeks in jail his customers would be saving money to pay him when he comes out. That is the reality of the host industry, absolute loyalty to the hosts by the customers. That is why most hosts easily makes over 100M yen annually now, with top hosts making well over 5000M annually with a significant portion paid in cash for “after” activities.

So.....because she did not tell any police means that she was a willing accomplice?

What if she told some one, but asked them not to report it?

How many women do you know in Japan that would have the strength to come forward and tell others that they were forced or chose to work in a brothel and sleep with multiple strange men 5-7 days a week?

Alternatively, how many heterosexual men do you know would come forward and tell others that they were raped by other men?

its sick.

How many women do you know in Japan

I write this precisely because I know many who are deeply in love with their hosts. They are definitely willing to do anything as long as they can give more money to their host. I personally know a certain AV star who bragged to me she have given more than 500M yen to her host, and she frequently goes overseas to places such as Dubai, Hong Kong,LA, etc just to bring in more money for her host. She never saves any money for herself and lives in terrible conditions in an old 1K. And she is not the only one. Host club customers’ love for their hosts have no bounds so it is without a doubt in my mind that the girl was willing to do anything to give her host more money.

Numan describes this well. This is the business model. Host clubs systematically prey on vulnerable women.

They are not simply hostess bars with the roles reversed. Hostess bars by contrast are mostly harmless. Few men end up ruined, in crushing debt, and/or selling their bodies to pay for hostess bars.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

The ways of the wicked are numerous; the way of the righteous is but one and exceeding narrow.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Never make a woman pay for anything. Unless its her overpriced branded clothing or accessories.

Host clubs, hostess clubs, etc are all low education level people that prey on human nature.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

So the "red light district" is now called the "nightlife district". Political correctness?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Why do women even go to those clubs?

Sometimes The “hosts” are prettier than they are.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

I like the part where the managers were also arrested, they promote these kind of crimes so they should also shoulder some of the punishment.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

These are only allegations. Let's see what the actual facts are.

Shocking to notice she was only 20 and already have been used for sex by a lot of random guys, how worst can it get for a girl?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Ok he wanted fame he has it here on JT but he’s still a piece of garbage

An example of what not to be. I have met many. Congratulations for rounding up others as well.

Blame the government for not making those places illegal. The government is responsible as long as they are able to conduct that kind of business.

She was not forced. She could have just obtained a normal role at a normal company. Could have worked at a convenience store. A fast food establishment. Taught Japanese. Any number of ways to bring in that hard earned cash.

So you are obviously a key witness in the case. Shouldn't you be in Court.?

Read the story! He even admitted himself that he forced her into prostitution to pay extortionate restaurant bills. This pond life admits it yet there are people here still saying she was definitely not forced.!

There are some very sad people here who love to blame the women. Really sad. No wonder there are so many cases where women get abused this way.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Blame the government for not making those places illegal.

By what law? What is it about host clubs as an industry that is done across the board, that is a large enough transgression that the entire industry should be shut down?

The government is responsible as long as they are able to conduct that kind of business.

Any business could do illegal things in the running of their business. Unlike China, Japan does not require government oversight within companies. It's ridiculous to think an entire industry should be shut down because of a bad actor within the industry. There needs to be a clear reason to show the industry as a whole should be shut down.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

While some hosts may have a loyal fan base, and it sounds like from real experience, you are clearly factually inaccurate with regards this story and I am frankly sceptical about the rest of it.

Their "love ...[has] no bounds"? Really? It sounds like you are stretching credibility here.

Sorry, but she is definitely NOT forced

She said she was forced. The host admitted forcing her. The police have arrested him and brothel owners for forcing her into prostitution.

If you know something that they don't, I suggest you take that evidence to the police so this poor innocent man can go free.

Because of course, it's not at all common for young women to be forced into prostitution. It's not like a name was invented for the crime of sex trafficking or a entire police division created to deal with it, amirite?

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

By what law?

By a law which outlaws ridiculously huge markups on alcohol sales. Pressurising gullible women to buy bottles of vintage Dom Perignon in the name of companionship.

I see you are defending some of the lowest forms of humanity stood on the sidewalks harassing women whilst protected by the gangsters who own their turf. Host boys are essentially scum. Uneducated and unwilling to do a normal days work like the rest of us. The majority of the time, if not all the time, they are ripping off their female customers and let them rack up huge debts.

an entire industry

So brave of you to defend this cowardly lot giving them kudos as an "industry".

@gokai_wo_maneku that is hilarious I can't argue with that!!

So the "red light district" is now called the "nightlife district". Political correctness?

@TigersTokyoDome Some posters here read with their fingers!!! You are correct the article says "I wanted to be the No. 1 (host) at my host club, so I forced her into prostitution," the suspect was quoted as telling investigators after his arrest over the weekend. Time to watch Sesame Street!!!

If the customer is willing to pay the price, why should that be illegal?

I see you are defending some of the lowest forms of humanity stood on the sidewalks harassing women whilst protected by the gangsters who own their turf.

No, I'm questioning the logistics of making a private business illegal. It's massive government interference in adults doing things that are not illegal.

As for the guys on sidewalks - there are laws against that already. Maybe they need to be enforced.

Host boys are essentially scum. Uneducated and unwilling to do a normal days work like the rest of us. The majority of the time, if not all the time, they are ripping off their female customers and let them rack up huge debts.

Sure, it's a sleazy business, but again you have willing customers, selling their services to adults. I don't drink alcohol, I think it's damaging to your body, and I don't have a lot of respect for people who can't go a few weeks without a drink. But I don't think bars should be shut down, even though alcohol literally kills people. Because the bars are selling a service and a product to adults. That's how society works - sometimes you may not like stuff, but you need a compelling reason to make it illegal.
