These guys always crack me up. They think they'll get away with it.

He has gotten away with it!
A suspended sentence and no fine?
The poor in Japan get put in gaol for pocketing a rice ball.....
Blattamexiguus
no jail time for stealing nearly 7m yen in public money?
he did get away with it!
Disillusioned
No mention of him having to pay the money back. Just another 'sticky fingered' Japanese politician getting caught with his fingers in the honey pot. It's surprising how often this happens in Japan.
Scrote
Thieving politicians will keep on stealing until they start getting sent to jail for long periods. A suspended sentence is pathetic for someone who stole taxpayer's money.
Yubaru
Only took 4 years to snail this through the courts for a suspended sentence.

So this means he got away with it while an LDP member. Guess he is wishing he stayed an LDP member. Does he have to pay it back.......to the people?
talaraedokko
How will this affect our Dear PM’s future?

Because they do... unless you think a suspended sentence is punishment. They always know that's the WORST that they'll get, and that they can still keep the money.

I hate the way the private life is more important than serious fraud. Who cares if he had an affair. But serious crime...6months.

They need it, after becoming unemployable due to the suspended sentence. Sure it's not a jail term, but it's the end of their lives as they knew it.

This guy keeps getting caught, denying it, and then being forced to admit that he was actually lying, again. A likeable enough chap, they had an hour's tv talk show special with him this morning.
Haha, at least he handled it better than Hyogo Prefectural Assemblyman Ryutaro Nonomura!

If you are arrested and convicted, you did not get away with anything.
