With school bullying reports continuing to set new records, it’s a reasonable assumption that the political world is rife with this sort of stuff. Toyota was just unlucky that the incident was recorded and put online.

"I have never inflicted serious injury on him by being violent."

Well, yes, you did not strike him unconscious, nevertheless you struck him. I'm very pleased this psycho lost her seat. Kudos to the voters of the No.4 single-seat constituency!

i would never generalise that this is normal behaviour for LDP. this is an isolated incident/s.

She's been doing this for years, by all accounts. Violent, abusive behaviour aimed at her staff. The LDP bigwigs in her area and at HQ must have known about it. They did nothing (as far as we know), so by doing nothing they condoned it.

No-one is suggesting that this is normal behaviour for LDP politicians but it's clearly not an isolated incident, either.

At a press conference in September, Toyota apologized for verbally abusing the secretary but denied assaulting him, saying, "I have never inflicted serious injury on him by being violent."

In her statement she actually admits striking him by saying "I have never inflicted serious injury on him by being violent.”

Lock her up!!

She should’ve been arrested months ago to begin with. Most of these people on the top of the ladder don’t even respect the taxpayers.

This is just the kind of mentality that creates so much child abuse in Japan. Violence is never ok, regardless of intent or circumstances!

Well if this kind of mentality does not create all kinds of abuse in the whole society and throughout the nation of Japan, then the only conclussion we can draw is, that a powerful interdimensional blackhole is situated right above them and is doing its worst to bestow the age of decadence upon the islands. Oh poor Japan.

@alfie. this was my attempt at sarcasm. i guess I'm not good. i worked in a few japanese companies and witnessed/experienced corporate bullying. I'm not japanese by birth, so i can just quit and find a new business. japanese don't have such an option. if this happens in small companies, i wonder what goes on up above?

Par for the course in Japan. The farther they are up the food chain, the more abusive they become. I would say a frightening percentage of Japanese have nothing but disdain for fellow Japanese they deem lower on the social ladder.

she's just claiming that she's innocent (ever hear innocent until PROVEN guilty?). How does this mentality create a culture for child abuse?! Nonsense.
