Another Japanese company involved in fraud, grassing and/or bribery. Does it ever end? It's getting to the point where the list of companies not involved in fraud is very short compared to those who have.

In south east Asia this is common practice. Many companies, Japanese or western grease the wheels as it is expected by locals.

How long did the three spend in solitary detention without being formally charged and denied the assistance of legal counsel? It will be interesting to see what their sentences will be.

It is usually marked down as market research, consulting fees, project management costs, advisor fees, or some other such grandiose description. Guess someone must have not received their fare share of the money!

The court adopted the plea bargain agreement signed by prosecutors and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power on June 28 as evidence, with the deal exempting the company from indictment in exchange for cooperation in investigations and the trial.

@ramzel, yes, if things need to be handle properly in developing countries it will cost lot of time, without little bit of grease things can be really slow.

This case can be initiated in the first place because plea bargain system that introduce recently. That plea bargain is introduced to fight organized crime but for this can it can be for corporate practice.
