I've just seen the video. In broad daylight too! She'll probably get off because of her fame and money.

It's the same problem in the USA. Some years ago as a woman who crossing a multi-lane street to go to a hotel after seeing a concert by the band RUSH in an outdoor amphitheater, this rich teenager was drunk driving, hit and run and she killed the concert attendee. She got only two years suspension on her driver's license. She moaned she was 'very sorry'. MONEY TALK$, and that's a crime!

fatboysosa-Like a lot of people here, when it comes to common sense, they're just one sided. I definitely know from experience and so do a lot of my foreign friends. I always teach my kids to always look both ways before crossing. Unfortunately, an in-law relative of mine didn't do this according to the police report of her accident and she paid the price. She was bright and a very nice and considerate lady.

In Europe she would get her ass kicked so badly by the police she'd never think of doing it again. Why didn't they get a blood test done on her? Once you're a felon, with a criminal case, you don't have the right to oppose the test.

Can’t understand. She drunk the night before or morning? Japan has some of the stupidest drink driving laws, but some Japanese just need one can of Chuhai to be drunk. Where I come from and my body, 1.5 bottles of champagne is drunk. But in my country, two small glasses of wine in the first hour with food, and one every hour for 3 hours is totally acceptable.

The cars are supposed to cross right before the cross walk. That light is on the far side of the intersection.

The video clearly shows the right arrow filter is on. So why are people crossing? We don't have this confusing nonsense in the UK

Because cars are supposed to turn right, not plow straight into a green pedestrian light.

That doesn't make any sense and just asking for an accident to happen.

Smith, it’s not uncommon for even “ordinary” people to get a suspended sentence for simple possession or use of drugs in Japan. I know several people who have.

However given the circumstances of this case (multiple victims), and the dash-cam video going public, I don’t think she’s getting off easy.

We know you often stick up for criminals -- especially saying they're not guilty if they have mental issues -- but where is any of what I said made up? You haven't seen people outside of the courtrooms of célébrités on trial carrying signs cheering them on before? Maybe missed the article on how a celebrity's son was caught for the FOURTH time with stimulants, or how baseball legend Kiyohara received no prison time for the same? Nori-P's support for her comeback, with fans blaming it all on bullying and her husband?

I could see at least a few charges:

Hit and run.

Driving under the influence.

Leaving the scene of a crime.

Running a red light.

Speeding.

Hitting a couple of pedestrians.

I’m glad the video is now being shown on TV - maybe it’ll shock some sense into people.

Pedestrians and cyclists account for more than half of traffic deaths in Japan - about 2000 people killed every year by car drivers. People need to understand that driving is a privilege not a right -and the ramifications of carelessness and irresponsibility.

Alcohol and after seeing the video I strongly suggest she was looking at her phone and not the road. Ran a red light obviously didn't see the pedestrians, and ran.

But she is "famous" and "cute" so the Ministry of "who do you know" will no doubt recommend a suspended sentence suspended and apologise for the inconvenience.

Wish I knew a celebrity I'd go nuts.

Very informational stuff here! But what I want to know is what will happen to her as far an the "law" and her "fame".

This chick was 4X above the blood alcohol limit for driving, hit a woman on a bike who was flung into the air and into a guy, which injured him, kept going, but called police about 15 minutes later and returned to the scene.

Because if it were you or me with 1 can of beer in our system........need I say more? Farless for an attempted vehicular manslaughter, causing bodily damage with a deadly weapon and all the rest? If I did all that, I'd be LOST in jail because I'm not famous. This has to stop.
