Yubari is correct on the face of what we have been told, but Maria is correct in the sense that the police appear to have more evidence behind the scenes.
Found this information after some trawling around various sites. “根本容疑者は事件当時、泊まり勤務をしていて、施設内の防犯カメラには、廊下で仰向けに寝ていた黒沢さんの足を引っ張って部屋に引きずり込む様子が映っていた。黒沢さんの肋骨(ろっこつ)は5本以上が折れ、内臓から大量に出血していて、警視庁は、殺意を持って暴行を加えたとみている。病院の集中治療室で黒沢さんは家族に「若い男に蹴られた」と伝えていたという。

Essentially he was the duty nurse that night, and they have security camera footage of him dragging the face-up sleeping patient along the corridor by his feet into his room.
The patient was able to tell his family he was kicked in the stomach by a ‘young man’.

It's just as bad as child abuse. Sad.

According to the following more detailed article, for those who read Japanese, Kurosawa tended to wander from his room at night, and this 'dragging' back to his room happened not just once but several times. The hospital staff have said that normally he would be moved in a wheelchair, and that such dragging itself would be considered by them to be cruelty/abuse.

I hope there is more evidence than just "Kurosawa told relatives that he had been "kicked by a man."
Maria
@Yubaru, re.
There is.
Kurosawa is quoted here as saying he never used violence. All he needs to do is explain how an elderly man in his care got these injuries.
Maria
Believe it or not, I have no power in the Japanese legal system. The police are the ones that arrested him as being the person in charge, and with the evidence they have, and more evidence which they have not necessarily chosen to publish in this article.
Or would you rather they not investigate this man's death?
Yubaru
So? I know plenty of women who worked in cabaret's, snacks, and other "fuzoku" that now work in all sorts of positions working and caring for people as nurses.
One's work history does not make them a killer
nandakandamanda
Yubaru, apologies for the name glitch!
Maria
So, the man was arrested last Wednesday (May 22) for the death of a resident on April 4th. You think they skipped some of the initial investigation, hurried it along? Tell me more about how they have been handling it.

Nandakandamanda: Thank you for that additional information. Indeed, the Police have more information (from the CCTV video) than they are prepared to release. The daughter was allowed to view the video scene of the killer celebrating in the corridor after kicking her father...very very painful.
"I know plenty of women who worked in cabaret's"
Sure, of course you do. And cabarets is plural, not possessive.
Yubaru
And what if he can't? Or doesnt know? That is not enough evidence to convict a man of murder!
It does not tell if there were other employees in the facility either. At this man's age, he very well could have gotten the injuries from a fall or even from another patient in the facility. It says nothing about deceased man's condition, was he bed ridden? Mobile? Confined to a wheel chair?
All the article and news media states is that he died of complications from his internal injuries.
I worked in Japanese hospital group for nearly a decade, most of the patients were elderly, many bed ridden and others partially mobile and otherwise, sometimes patients fought between themselves, mostly due to stress related issues of losing their ability to live freely.
You are putting the blame on Kurosawa without any actual evidence, and blindly believing he is guilty based upon the fact that the police arrested him, and as we ALL know the Japanese police are infallible!
Yubaru
@nandakandamanda, first, no problems on the name! Everyone makes typos!
Thank you for the added information, makes a whole hell of a different story than the one posted here. Bugs the hell out of me that JT is far too often half-arsed in their re-re-re-reporting of articles and then they can't even get it right.
Would save a whole hell of a lot of misunderstanding...but then they wouldn't have folks bickering about it, and then the moderators would have to find real jobs!

The suspect, Tomoki Nemoto, frequently changed jobs and had worked previously in a "host club".
Yubaru
Never said that, but arresting someone prior to investigating is the same as convicting someone without any evidence here. They arrested him after the man died, based upon what evidence?
Based upon him being the person in charge? Consider what you wrote here, you are opening pandora's box.
doel jusino
Kicked by a man does not mean it was Tomoki Nemoto .... He should have identified the man by name.
Lets wait & see what the outcome we be.
