As usual double standards for Japan's elite.

Remarkable, a news report that actually mentions Dentsu involvement in bribery and corruption. A clear indication that the journalism wasn't done by any domestic media organisation.
Comedy gold. I laughed until I stopped.
Our tax money, of course.

No surprise. They did the same thing for the Nagano Games. They couldnt be properly investigated because they had incinerated the financial documents.

The man without the chin is the fall guy. It goes much higher than that, Likely all the way to the top.
That's why the Olympic circus absolutely must take place.

At this point, I really don't give a d*mn if the Olympics are cancelled.

They go after Ghosn like hounds without looking at all the bribery and corruption involving their own people! Japanese judicial system is as corrupt as Japanese companies!

Will be interesting to see how Japan handles the French extradition request.

I’m looking forward to learning which minister(s) end up “amakudari”-ing their way into Dentsu now...

Please investigate, Abe and Aso are behind this

Japan Inc. - Rotten to the core.
We all know it, but nobody here is allowed to say it. I wonder how many media outlets, TV in particular, will run this story.

Where did the money for these bribes come from?

Sounds like some gold, silver and bronze medals for corruption can be awarded!

Standard working procedure for the LDP and associates. That is the way it was founded. https://www.nytimes.com/1994/10/09/world/cia-spent-millions-to-support-japanese-right-in-50-s-and-60-s.html

Are these guys in jail yet, why not?

Facta reported on this first. Thankfully there are still credible journalists operating in Japan with a conscience.
And just gotta love that $1.3mill was paid to Mori's NPO with a staff of 1.
I mean it can't get any higher than this - an ex PM, the great grandson of the Meiji emperor Takeda and one of the Biggest Advertising companies in the world and sponsor of the olympics - Dentsu.
Just give up the olympics for evermore.

Well, colour me surprised! It's not really any surprise, either, that they cling to the same dates so strongly, and delayed postponement forever, also sacrificing the health of the nation in the process. All for some extra money.
Now, the question is, what low-level secretary is going to have to be "the one who took the notes and made the actions", because I mean, surely Mori and Abe and others had absolutely no idea what was going on.

How interesting. Facta was the same company that reported the whistleblowing incident at Olympus first too if i'm not wrong.

Loved the facial expression of a man who screwed up has just been busted . But he shouldn't worry too much, a few deep bows will suffice. Unless, of course, some of that money came from the wrong people. But that will never be made public, somehow.

You know Japan is guilty of corruption when the JOC 'accidentally' shredded/hid/lost/[add whatever excuse] all the financial documents just days prior to the independent investigation, and when the previous head of the JOC Takeda resigned over alleged corruption, apparently to save Japan's face/butt.

I was opposed to allowing Japan to host the Olymics because of too much corruption. TOLD YA SO :-)

hey, naïve, this investigation started years ago

This is pretty shocking finding out that they bought votes. It was almost as shocking as when I realized that water was wet.

Well there you go...Japan isn't sure pure as we've been led to believe.
Infact, it's nothing unusual in Politics, Globally, the Majority, I'd dare say, are bent - on the take in one way or another.
I'd welcome a Survey and poll upon the best Politicans ever, and the reasons why those responded thought so - that, may be an interesting and thought provoking read.

Well feels like this Olympic was already a bad start right from the beginning. And the French are doing a 'great job' of investigating this problem right where people are dying constantly in France and around the world from the virus. Well they sure do know that nobody is going to give a care about this outcome since everyone's attention is on the virus situation. Public diversion at its best.

The old adage goes: if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, it must be a horse. All the chicanery and debauchery involved in the network of bribes leads one to believe in what the Japanese call “bachi”. The postponed Olympics will cost it’s citizens Olympic sized losses of billions of dollars. All of the co-conspirators should be held financially accountable. Shame on them. They have reduced the Olympic flame to a flicker

How is he any different from china businessmen and CCP members who do the same in Western countries? Why do you think WHO and other big organizations keep kow-towing to them?

Wow, the French really have got their priorities right. Wuhan virus going around? Let's investigate Olympics corruption..
