Father arrested for beating son with wooden bat

I understand that at times you have to discipline a child for things that they may have done, And you have a good understanding with your child sometimes the discipline can just be a firm verbal talk, yet at times you may have to spank your child and that's understandable but hitting them with a Bat that's not discipline that's abuse. In my opinion the father should get the same discipline.

Put the boy in protective services, arrest the father and question the mother. Do not release the boy back to the home until the court and protective services find a solution, and put a restraining order on the father. If they release the boy to the mother, boot the father from the house.

This jerk deserves the same treatment that he meeted out.

The sempai/koihai nonsense likely has some responsibility. Japanese people seem to think that those younger than them are somewhat disposable. Repugnant.

Anyone want to bet that "Dad" here (name only) played baseball as a kid, and received the "ketsu-bat" (getting hit on the butt with the "discipline") treatment when he was in elementary school. and he was repeating the same thing to his own kid!

Hey, I suffered injuries to my buttocks when my elementary school principal hit me repeatedly with a wood board for doodling in class, but he was never arrested or even disciplined even though my parents complained to the school board.

What valuable lesson did he think his son would learn from being hit with a wooden bat?

This isn’t child abuse. It’s assault and attempted murder. A wooden bat? That’s what you use on someone breaking into your home or trying to kill you. You don’t use something like that on a child.
