Father arrested for child abuse after one-month-old son suffers brain damage

Police in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, have arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of abusing his one-month-old son, causing him to suffer brain damage.

According to police, Toshiyuki Okawauchi, a company employee, abused his son by shaking him violently at their apartment at around 11:30 a.m. on Dec 27, Sankei Shimbun reported. The child lost consciousness and Okawauchi took him to a hospital which later notified police about a case of probably child abuse.

Police said Okawauchi has denied the charge and quoted him as saying he shook his son because he wouldn’t stop crying but denied any intent to injure him.

The infant remains in hospital in a serious condition, police said Friday.

So, in his twisted little mind shaking a one month old baby is acceptable behavior. Some people should not be allowed to have children at all.

Sad excuse of a father, now he just ruined his son’s future.

Wish I had a kid. It did not work

So, just having a newborn close to me would have been a pure happiness .

How can people do that to their newborn !

Not again! Is it really rocket science to understand that babies cry and shaking them is not the solution?

I hope this idiot does not make more babies from now on.

"Okawauchi has denied the charge and quoted him as saying he shook his son because he wouldn’t stop crying" what about laying the child down, check his diapers, check the child's comfort level, etc, u box of hair. Where was the mammy, when all this was going on? Poor child never had a chance.

Castrate this guy so he can never be a father again

Bungle

As father to a two-month-old boy, this just breaks my heart. Sure, in between the wailing, grunting, and farting (and that’s just the wife, by the way).

LOL, OK

I have not had much sleep this year, but seeing him laugh and smile puts a lump in my throat and makes it all worthwhile.

Err, what? At two months, they don´t usually recognize faces yes and do not really laugh and smile. What kind of super-baby have you got there?

Um. Children literally can't choose their parents. Hope the infant will get back on his feet ASAP.

Tough lad, hey. They should make the address of this guy or his family public, I bet more than one would pay them a visit.

....and that would help the injured baby how?

This is very little concern for babies in the modern world. Thirty days earlier and the same baby could have been aborted and so many would not have even batted an eye over the poor child’s demise.

Good ol' right-wing rhetoric. Just like communism, sounds good on paper, but is way too simplistic to ever actually work in the real world.

You can see a lot of these biggity , suspected nationalist despotic pushing carriages, and carrying with their youngins on a chest or back sack, or racing with them on a PAS bike like they have done something grand by just reproducing, and be fronting like they are the nationalist of japan, for keeping the the cat away from the alien-who cares? in hopes to reproduce another like minded, when it turns out, they may destroy it at the onset, via inability to be patient ,responsible and mature.

*I ***was thinking the same thing. It is amazing that it would get down votes at all.  I guess babies are too much of an inconvenience for some (different from the health of the mother, rape, etc.), so just have it sucked out of the mother and down the toilet. Maybe the only silver lining with abortions is that liberals are very happy with it, and more apt to carry it out, thus, there will be less liberals in the future.  Can you imagine if the fetuses of a dog were aborted and the subsequent outrage?  But a human being, no problem. No wonder the world has gone to hell. Watch the down votes on this one. **

Accurate description except for one thing. You are talking about socialism put forward by the very extreme left wing. Tell me how that worked out in Cuba and Venezuela, pray tell.
