Sometimes makes you wonder if there should be some kind of assessment before people are allowed to have children. There are just too many people in the world traumatised by their parents.
Fighto!
Two more scum child abusers who need to be jailed for a long time and banned for life from contact with children. I wish both of them short lives of pain, misfortune and misery.
I hope these three poor kids can recover - but sadly in the case of the baby boy that seems impossible.

Father is not a title he deserves.
TokyoLiving
Parents like this should be sterilized and put in prison for at least 30 years..
How great would the good old gallows be for child abusers..
obladi
Sounds like a reasonable punishment for the Dad

They'll know what to do with him in jail. Barbaric monster!
Disillusioned
A sad as these incidents are the saddest things are the pathetic excuses these callous child abusers have given.

Not even 6 months old and already developed a disability that will be with him for the rest of his life due to the one person supposed to protect him.
This is so heartbreaking on so many levels. As a father myself, I agree that he doesn't deserve that title.

Interesting that both articles are in the same headline. One has to wonder why? These are two different articles.

Some people just don’t deserve to have children. With the frequency and callousness of child abuse in Japan I am glad to see the birth rate dropping. Less children should mean less abuse, but it seems to be increasing despite the falling birth rate.

Get a rope and a tree with a strong bough for this guy.

Just what is wrong with some people? Are they mentally ill that they harm babies and infants? Shame on them.

Child abuse is definitely too much high here. Instead to pay people for nothing in many administrations or for the dinosaures politicians, use this money for social assistants, there is so much to do to protect kids.

It sure would be a shame if he had a little accident in his jail cell and accidentally smashed his face into the side of his toilet bowl 12-15 times in quick succession. It would be even more unfortunate if all his teeth that got knocked out got accidentally flushed down the toilet.

Or by the lack of them. Raising my son and taking part in every aspect of his life (from changing nappies to giving his bath, going to the pediatric together for every single shot, go buying heavy stuff after a long day at work (nappies, small furniture, etc.), going for small trips and bringing him to lots of parks and activities even on those weekends all you want is to stay @ home) all this can be tiring sometimes but it gives you a whole new purpose in life. But sometimes it gets me thinking how on earth a single mother can raise a child completely alone. Forget the money, how someone could have the strength for all this? God bless every single parent on earth.

It is a sad form of mercy but according to the report "the rest of his life" may be just a very short time.

Just plain awful!

A Father would never do such horrible things to their children.
This man is not a father but a criminal who should have been behind bars from the first offense. Never let out of prison again and with his testicles removed without anesthesia.

Yudai Arata should be chemical castrated and forbidden to adopt children all his life.

String him up!!!!
thelonius
Monsters. Lock them up for a long, long time, and let this be an example to the other child beaters out there who are getting away with it every day.

I come from a town where a guy like this would be target number one, inside and outside prison. Even hard core criminals have a higher status than child abusers. Even the prison officers look the other way when low life like this get their 'Karmic justice' !

Think about this.
Everyone here cannot perform a simple task without having passed a government-mandated written test.,which, perfunctorily seems unnecessarily bureaucratic.
However, mightn't it be time to introduce such a test of or prospective parents here?
Just a thought.
shogun36
In a country where they love tests, to the point of obsession, it's a wonder why they don't give tests out to see who can and who can't make babies.
Unlike their "no one fails grade school" policy, I would suspect a good portion of the population would fail.
kurisupisu
A parenting test should be introduced in Japan
Strangerland
And what happens if they fail? They're sterilized? Forcefully aborted? Child taken from them and given to someone else? Or...?
Btang
IMO: He'll get a light sentence as compared to the uSA, other western countries etc, btw the prisoners are very isolated in Japan prisons, highly controlled and watched so getting beat down is unlikely. They are not allowed to talk among themselves too. If and when he gets out very few will know or have access to what he did. You gotta research JN culture and such case outcomes, among a culture that prioritizes saving face , in order to have the proper lens to view this society. Of course such crimes occur everywhere, but JN criminals are not treated like or turn out like Jeffery Epstein etc..
For a country with i.e 2020; the population of Tokyo Metropolis amounted to over 6,402 inhabitants per square kilometer, thats a hella lot of people, stress levels can be high, and much more serious if an apocalyptic event would occur.

At first it might of seemed like inexperienced fatherhood until I read “has already been indicted for abuses and injuries inflicted on his eldest son when the child was eight months old.”.
Mickelicious
Is that part of the current arrest/custody or a previous arrest?
Too often we see jealous man babies walk free to repeat vile abuse.

They have failed the Parenthood
JRO
Yeah because more tests are what Japanese need, I'd say more time outside of books, school and work for husbands would make them better fathers, 90% of fathers here are just Saturday babysitters. Also how would you test for that? Shake or not shake the baby?
kaimycahl
WOW I am SPEECHLESS can't express any words for this horrific act.
*Yudai Arata, 26, is accused of causing his second-born son to suffer severe head trauma by unknown means*

No words can describe this loser.

Wow! Got a negative vote! Must be a very cold hearted person out there!
