A 79-year-old man and his 43-year-old daughter have been found dead at their house in Hamura, Tokyo, in what police believe was a murder-suicide.
According to police, the man’s oldest son, who lives in another residence, visited his family on Saturday at around 9:50 a.m. and found the bodies, Sankei Shimbun reported. Police said the father had apparently hanged himself in a first-floor tatami mat room. His daughter was lying face-up in the living room after having been strangled.
Police said the front door was locked and there were no signs of forced entry.
The son told police his father and sister had bickered over financial issues for at least a year. Police said they had been consulted on at least one occasion.© Japan Today
