Good work. Sounds like the police worked out who the lead criminal was through deduction rather than tracing his IP address. Not sure how they managed it - he must have left too many clues as to his identity.

lol
everytime you hear a CP bust is due to user/admin’s stupidity and for not following OPSEC to a T!
Do the hustle
I’d like to see them go one step further and start shutting down and prosecuting those who host these sites. They did it with Pirating sites, so they should be able to do it with child porn sites too.

I think child porn sites are a little less out in the open than PirateBay or TorrentKing, etc, are. And I don't think they did prosecute the hosts did they, just the sites and individuals themselves?

I'd hope they can squeeze his full user list out of the guy. Get every sleazebag that signed up to the site, and prosecute them as well. Scum.

Unfortunately, it will never stop.
When a child I was approached by a paedophile and propositioned.
Now, the net can be used for people to do the same, with more ease.
Likewise, the infamous snuff movie can be accessed whereas years ago those movies clandestinely changed hands by knowing a friend of a friend.
By the time TOR is unraveled it will be something new.

Drugs, fighting, not paying tax =ok. But abusing children is the border. Life in prison with hard labor.

.onion services are hidden. If the admin is smart, the physical location cannot be easily determined. It isn't like looking up an IP address and getting to the correct province/jurisdiction.

I am glad to see that some one has come up with this soft ware to get through encryption layers, there will be a few people starting to mess them selfs this morning when they have read this news, and good! the cops are coming for you guys and your front door will be kicked off its hinges!

There is no software that can "get through the software encryption layers". They found him through other means. They got the Silk Road guy because he posted some code that ended up in the source code of Silk Road on a forum associated to his real email address. He changed it minutes later, but it was too late.
Disillusioned
They did threaten any carries that were supporting downloading and made them responsible for not stopping it. The same should be done for creeps frequenting these sites.

I'm sure there was much worse, the example of bathing suits is not a good one. Its called going to the beach.

BTW, kudos for stopping, my comment was directed at the article's first example of what they found.
