Police in Miyama, Fukuoka Prefecture, have arrested a 43-year-old firefighter on suspicion of stealing women's underwear from the home of a female acquaintance in her 40s.
According to police, Teruaki Ryu, who works for the Kurume Fire Department in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, stole underwear from a clothesline in the back garden while the woman was at work just after 11 a.m. on March 11, Sankei Shimbun reported. Police said the woman had previously consulted with them last November after finding some of her underwear missing from the clothesline.
Police then installed security cameras on the premises and captured footage of Ryu on March 11. Police said Ryu, who was arrested on Monday, has admitted to the charge and quoted him as saying he wanted the woman’s underwear. The woman lives in the house with a friend of Ryu's.

I really got to hand it to the Japanese, they're as honest as they'll get when it comes to crimes. How about just buying female lingerie at your nearest mall instead of stealing used ones and risk being incarcerated for it? Looks like this firefighter can't control the fire within him.

Japan is strange. Here firefighters seem to sometimes often steal women’s underwear. In my country, the most popular calendars are of muscle bound firefighters, and no hens night is complete without a fireman stripper.

HAHA reminds me of the time my wife had hers stolen from the line so I got a pair of mans sack holders wore them around the house then hung them on the line I set up a bunch of web cams to run when movement was detected sure enough the perp turned up stole mine and rubbed them on his face got some good shots laminated them and put them on power poles warning people he was a nicker thief.

I really don't understand because yes in Japan women use the outside unprotected for drying undies, so you can see them from far.
Pervs will remain pervs.
There a re plenty of ways to prevent that and you don't need to involve police for your underwear.
Thieves shall be put to prison but there is sure bigger fish to catch.
