Fireman photographs female in bath; gets chased by parents and drives off with mother on bonnet

Just after 11:30 p.m. on Sept 2, a residential district in Toyokawa City, Aichi Prefecture, became the scene of a dramatic suspected attempted murder after a pervert was caught photographing a young female resident while she bathed in her bathroom.

The victim screamed when she realized she was being photographed, alerting her parents, who immediately rushed outside to look for the culprit. The man, who had been photographing the daughter with his smartphone, then attempted to flee the scene by getting into his car, but the mother stood in front of the vehicle, blocking its path.

The assailant then went to reverse the vehicle, but the father appeared and stood behind the car. With both parents working together to block his escape route, the man then decided to drive forward, as the 55-year-old mother clung onto the bonnet of the car.

The driver drove with the woman on the hood of the car for about 20 meters without stopping. The father ran behind in pursuit, and managed to somehow wrangle his way into the driver’s seat of the car to stop the vehicle.

The man was then pulled from the car, where he prostrated himself on the road in apology in front of the parents. He was handed over to police officers, who had rushed to the scene.

The mother escaped with slight bruises on her knees, and the assailant, Taiki Saito, a 25-year-old firefighter, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the incident.

The man has denied the charges, saying he was aware that the woman was on the bonnet of the car but didn’t intend to kill her.

People online were appalled by the crime, but filled with admiration and praise for the parents.

“Kudos to the mother who was determined to not let him get away.”

“These parents who risked their lives for their daughter are amazing.”

“They’re like action movie heroes.”

“Such a strong woman, to escape with just bruises after something like this!”

“It’s lucky she wasn’t killed — I remember reading news of a shopkeeper who clung to a thief’s car bonnet and he was hit by a utility pole and died.”

I wonder if the young lady is a minor...I wonder why they don't reveal the age as they usually do in these cases...

What a stupid thing for two people to do, 1-Take a picture of a girl in her home shower. No mention as to weather he knew the girl or if she was a stranger to him.... 2- Jumping and holding on the hood of a vehicle while it's in motion is not a smart thing to do, easy way of getting hurt or killed. But who knows could be the mother also wanted her picture taken in the nude before the guy drove away ..... Hope it was all worth it....

@shogun

I think the J police and firemen are competing against each to see who can create the most sexual harassment cases in 2020.

It seems that 2019 went to the police, but 2020 is definitely in the fire fighters favor.

ha ha spot on.

When you hear of a sex crime, instead of fantasizing about doing the same thing yourself you should be empathizing with the victim. The number of posters here who are fantasizing about comitting sex crimes instead of feeling empathy to the victim is just astounding. Either this forum is particularly overrun with misogynists or else there are more misogynists in the world than I thought.

I'm guessing that it's this forum.

I'd like to know why so many people are blaming everyone else - the girl, the parents, the construction company - instead of blaming the sex criminal.

Maybe it was worth it to see a little piece of heaven. So why is the shower area visible from outside anyways?

I'd like to point out that this poster is advocating in favor of a sex crime, and may be a danger to women.

Hello @Jonathan Prin - if that's the case here.. then it's clearly a Parental issue.

It is very typical to get bathroom windows open on the outside public space, with little obstacle to hide.

I remember going to an "onsen" on top of a building (there were public hours for women, then for men). I quickly realized that another close building with hundreds of windows was double its height...I think it was even an hotel.

Getting killed for a photo, no way for me.

That firefighter was here to sav..k.il.l you.

As for the Family... What type of Bathroom do they have that'd allow a peeping Tom to snap pictures of Body parts that shouldn't be on display ?

My Neighbours including myself, keep our bathroom windows near closed during bathing/showers.... so there's no way to see anything. So are the Parents exhobitionists ? Was this simply a Publicity stunt ? Otherwise I think that the Home builder needs to be identified, named and shamed - since I don't want to buy anything that they produce, given the current situation.... camera lenses would be broken photographing me... and I dont want to be held accountable for those.

One Individual brings shame upon many simply by association with his Job Title.... Come on! Get Real.... should Japanese Parents tell their Kids not to be Politicians for the same reason ?

Giving firemen a bad name... I wonder how many more perverted firemen are out there...

Soon it will be like this "Mom, I want to be a fireman! NO NO NO you are NOT going to be a fireman, people will think I brought up a pervert!!! The shame of it!!!"

The parents were really brave, although they risked their life kind of unnecessarily IMO. They should have tried taking picture of the perpetrator and his car instead. Although that might have been impossible, we will never know I guess.

OTOH, what is with these charges in Japan? Attempted murder? I guess it takes more than riding 20 meters on the bonnet to murder someone.

pics or it didn't happen

Whats with all the pervs in Japan? Reminds me of an experience I had in Kyoto. Went to use the public toilet near Arashiyama and a few seconds after I sit down, some perv puts his phone over the stall wall and starts filming. I yelled something and he ran off. Wished I had chased him down like those parents. He's probably still out there perving.

Fire him, man.

You win today, Mocheake.

Fighto!Today 08:14 am JST

Yet another firefighter. The heavy drinking in such a job would not help either.

Japanese firemen are big boozers? The things you learn on here are just amazing.

Just because the parents succeeded with neither getting seriously hurt or killed does not make trying to stop a car with your body no longer a completely stupid idea. They were under the same panic reaction he was. Fight, flight or freeze. He chose flight. They chose fight. If he is guilty of attempted murder then they are guilty of attempted suicide. Any other time someone starts acting like a Marvel Superhero they get chewed out. No difference here except no chewing out.

Well done to the parents, and kudos as well to police for not treating this lightly and charging the man with attempted murder (I hope, on top of charges for taking the photos). Mayhap some people learn from this, and wow is this guy going to wake up to some horrible realities, all for a brief moment of sexual gratification.

@expat

This being Japan there are Sento and hot springs.

Brave parents, but wouldn't getting the license plate have been enough?

Fireman in sex related crime again??? Have to agree with Mickelicious.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

How old was the girl he was photographing? Was she a minor?

I’m quite sure this is not the first time this creepy voyeur has been poking his phone into bathroom windows.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Yeah really. Most bad people used to be unemployed, recently they've become firemen.

He must be a stalker if he drove to her home to do it, not just a neighbourhood chancer.

Another fireman story ....

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Lucky the police were on hand to save Taiki Saito, a 25-year-old firefighter from the Girls Mother.

He caught the look on Mums face through the windscreen and knew his end was nigh.

Prostrating himself on the road in apology was his only hope.

On release from prison Mum will be waiting, be afraid, very afraid.

it is only perverted if it has never been done before, in this case not the situation, but him getting caught was the perverted part of it, being a fire fighter getting caught doing it. with body cams the new fire fighters will have, might get similar footage just not such a safe environment. them space cameras in orbit saw all of it and more. no doubt some one more was watching and reading this story thinking it i thrilling no less, but perhaps more will make movies and film happy or horrific about it. the worsts part is it was not on part of the parents or the girl to authorize or participate in all this one persons act, had it been so would a been a grate show but now it is all a mess not a very fun one ether, just something for all the imagination to contrive about.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

All this over a photo? probably a bad photo too, all they needed to do is to photo the car plate number.

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

Seriously. How have none of these people ever heard of the internet? Porn should should be able to give you your fix.

5 ( +10 / -5 )

Fire him, man.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

Yet another firefighter. Either they dont run psychological tests on these men at recruitment, or the extreme stress of the job is turning them into sociopaths. The heavy drinking in such a job would not help either.

Attempted murder

2 ( +8 / -6 )

Are the shifts firemen work so long they loose their social compass? It's odd lately so many are in the news.

14 ( +14 / -0 )

Is there a national døuchebag competition for firemen?

25 ( +26 / -1 )

never underestimate the protective instinct of a T-1000 mother.
