Flasher pushes woman onto railway tracks in Tokyo

A man on Wednesday afternoon pushed a 25-year-old woman onto the tracks at a train station in Akishima City, Tokyo, after he flashed her on a train. The man got away and the woman was severely injured, police said.

According to police investigations, the man, who is in his 30s and wearing a suit, exposed himself to the woman on the train around 3:30 p.m. She reported him to station staff at Haijima station. As they tried to detain him on the platform, the man suddenly pushed the woman onto the tracks and fled. The woman broke her ribs in the fall, police said.

When I walk on the dangerously crowded platforms I am always afraid that a psycho like this man can push me from the platform on the tracks. I had the same experience like this girl but not on a train but on a staircase. After seeing him I had the wish to throw up. Why men behave in such a sick way...

they tried to detain him Japanese style huh? "could you come with us please?". I like Sicilian style better...Thump, thwak, kapowee, zud..."ok, letz-ah draag hym bye tha hair to tha ooffice". works every time.

Why were the perp and the victum in the same space. Another long of police incompents in the police force. Thank God she wasn't killed.

just when a japanese girl tries to stand up for herself everything goes wrong. You wonder why most girls just ignore it in most cases.

I'm glad she's still alive. She did the right thing. She will probably forgive the guy. But if justice is served he should get punished for attempted murder along with assault and showing his little weenie to her.

Another moron who doesn't know what to do with his tackle.

Cut it off and put it in a (small, I imagine) bottle hung round his neck like the ancient mariner and the albatross, then we can all look at it.

at least someone tried to run. most of these guys just wait for the police to hang around. as for the story, "wearing a suit" I think he wasn't wearing his suit at the time ;O

Glad she is ok, and hope that he is brought to justice. He is obvisouly not just a sexual pervert, but a violent sexual pervert.

Ladies, if a man flashes you, just start laughing and shout out in either Japanese or English "Wow! It's so small!" "すごい!本と小さいね!"

I know it's no joke, my friend was flashed at in the UK. First she cried and after when she had calmed down, she actually joked about it, saying she had never seen one so big!

But all joking aside, these perverts need some serious jail time! That way, they will have plenty of time to flash and be flashed at by their own kind!

The police hadn't been called to the scene yet. As the article clearly points out, the incident happened in the presence of station staff.

I hope this woman's okay and I really hope they catch the coward who did this.

Very disappointed that in the multitude of onlookers there was no one who felt compelled to make sure that jerk didn't get away.

Yet another validation of the increasingly unhealthy psychology of many in Japan. I'll say it again, Japan had best get moving with some plans to encourage people to accept and seek psychological care. The alternatives are getting more and more twisted every day.

The whole mental issue with flashers is rooted in their feelings of sexual inadequacy and powerlessness in the face of women. By flashing they experience power, as the general reaction is for the woman to scream and run away.

Flashers, being a sad lot for the most part, do not realize that it is not their mighty organ striking fear into womens hearts, but the simple fear that they are escaped mental patients.

The loser in this scenario was most likely upset at the fact that the woman reacted calmly and alerted authorities.

Sad, sad, sad.

I wish she had had a taser. How could this guy get away in a crowded station? i would have grabbed his little aishe and ripped the little thing off. I dont care what the consequences. Please let the next dirtbag do this i at my station or on my train. In 5 years, I have never seen or witmessed anything bigger than a parking ticket.

lipscombe, all i need to do is look down...heheh. seriously, i meant the act of pushing the gal and running away, not the flashing part. I think that part is lame, but not in the same league as pushing her off the tracks. That is attempted murder.

But the pun was unintentional. Clever of you to point it out.

How about changing round the emphasis in your headline, JT? Would-be murderer flashes woman before pushing her onto tracks, maybe. He tried to kill her! The flashing part, nasty and disturbing as that might be, is less important than the fact he tried to off her, surely?

Good advice, do not help anybody. Consequences? You will end up in jail for touching Japanese regardless what he has just done.(99.9% conviction rate)

My Question to the Ladies: When a flasher does his thing to you, why do you not switfly extend a foot and help him remember his manners?

Yes, guys like this are sick.....but not all of us guys are like this....

Maybe she disturbed him while he was urinating and he got upset at her. I see a lot of peeing off in japan.

Probably true Euro1, but I could not abide just watching. I would be in another kind of prison for the rest of my life, a Guilt prison. The police need all the help they can get.
