This is not uncommon at all in Japan. Many Japanese women would do anything for their host bfs. Most of the girls working in places in Kabukicho are there to make money for their host. 100,000 yen monthly minimum is light. One of the girls I know have a monthly minimum of 500,000 by her host “bf”, he basically just threatens to tell her parents about her work, as she is too ashamed, she had to keep working 7 days a week often without sleep to support this host.

I do not see how the "pressure" here. Yes, he is a scumbag, but it was her decision to believe his lie. Saying that this is the same as forced prostition is claiming that women have no free will and not enough intelligence to see a scam. I can understand the white instinct here, but if the females in the forum do not see that this is underhanded way of treating them like children, then, well, maybe the claim is right.

If she was/is his Girlfriend then there is certainly something in that relationship to resort to such actions. I feel quite sorry for her.

However if it is true that he spent the money on Gambling and his own personal lifestyle desires, then he is a Scoundrel and a thoroughly rotten man, and deserves some form of corrective action.

As for the Debt situation... that should be looked into too.

Yes, I just read that now. I'm pretty surprised at that number. That is actually very difficult unless his girlfriend is very pretty, which I think she probably is.

Most host clubs actually have some connections to the sex industries. Most girls who work there are easier for host club debt, or so addicted to their hosts. The host club will typically refer the woman customers to a connected sex shop once they rack up enough debt. The contracts to those sex shops are typically very bad, e.g. the shop keep all cash (does not count toward debt) except for options, or 50-90%. The debt typically have monthly minimums of 500,000 yen, etc. with very high interest. I have friend who is paying about 1,000,000 a month in debt to the host club, but 850,000 of that is interest. And when she couldn't make the 850,000 yen payment in any month, it is added to her principle.

It is not only the ikemen culture in Japan that's causing this, but also the lack of regulations (for credit and interest charged on them by the host clubs) which forces hundred of thousands of women in Tokyo alone into sex work due to how exploitative host clubs are.

I would really like to see regulations to the host clubs, it is ruining the lives of hundreds of thousands of not millions of woman in Japan.
