Daisuke Oku, a former soccer player who represented Japan, has been arrested for threatening to kill his wife, actress Hinako Saeki, Kanagawa police said Friday.
Police said that Oku, who was capped 26 times and scored two goals for the Japanese national team, is accused of calling Saeki by phone and making several threats on her life, allegedly saying, "I'm coming to kill you now."
TBS reported Friday that Saeki consulted police. Oku was arrested in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, on Thursday afternoon and transferred to a police station in Kanagawa.
According to police, Oku has so far denied the charges.© Japan Today
