I can't even see how any eyeglass frames could be priced at 400,000 yen. They certainly were not worth that much.

It is difficult for the police to clearly see a motive in this case, as a result, someone will be framed.

J-cops may seek help from the Insurance Company or vice versa ?

The average price for these frames is 132,743 yen ($1,300.00). I too find that more than a little absurd.

Hard to shed a tear for the loss or theft of luxury goods this ridiculousy over-valued.

So what will the j-cops do now?? Stake out optician stores and arrest anyone who show up with eyeglass frames looking to buy lenses?

Something is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

I don't understand how a couple of grams of frame materials can be worth that much money. The company selling them are crooks, so I can't feel too bad for them being ripped off in the same way they rip their customers off.

I hope this doesn't leave Ami Tokito without anything to wear....

Last time Hermes bags from Ginza, now frames from Ibaraki, what's next?

@serrano ... "Something is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it."

It might be part of the whole story that no one, or at least not enough people, wanted to pay that price. What was it ... gold plated titanium? Ultra light carbon fiber?

"the people selling them are crooks"

Nonsense, that's like saying the people serving you at Starbucks are crooks for selling you a cup of coffee for 500 yen even though you can make a cup of coffee at home for less than 20 yen. Like I said before, something is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

Underware from UniClo

Who pays that kind of money for an eyeglass frame? And what do the thieves want to do with them? Sounds crazy.

Even if there were made out of Platinum or Titanium fiber, and/or each frame averaging at @ 132,125 yen - the safety and security system at this particular store is a total joke!! Early Christmas for these thugs!!
