If there's a bright spot in this era when businessmen like Ghosn (and so many others), politicians like IMpotus Trump (and so many others), and corporations like Nissan (and so many others) are being exposed for their corruption and ineptitude, it's more people are becoming aware, thanks to the free, for-profit media outlets providing information, of how nasty predatory capitalism is, especially when it's aided and protected by government. And that the rest of us are only pawns in their games. (BD)

Ghosn should take a deal in Lebanon or France, take a house arrest or some time, and get this over with, give Nippon their pound of flesh from abroad and move on with his life. He is out of japan inc hell, which was already a sentence that nobody should have to endure. some time over there would be nothing compared to Japan. good luck to him.

I’m pretty sure someday Hollywood will come up with a triple A movie about all this.

said it will allow Ghosn's legal team to formally present its own case to French prosecutors for the first time.

Good. That's what he always wanted anyway..

Give it a rest already.

Movie will be boring - not sure why so many see this as good basis for a thrilling flick.

If (when??) France finds Ghosn wasn't entirely straight and arrest and try him, will we see the same level of criticism of the legal process I wonder.

.

Not surprising.

Moody has cut Renault's rating to "junk". Stock has nose dived.

So NOW Renault Inc will seriously be after the money Ghosn took - no more playing ostrich

It will probably be along the likes of The Insider; critically acclaimed but a bit dull.

Yes, both Renault and Nissan suffering.  This whole thing has been a needless distraction, but not sure some of their poain isn't Ghosn's legacy as well.

Looks to me that he is a typically slightly dodgy plutocrat and some mud will end up sticking.  If French arrest him, my guess is they will get him behind bars eventually.

Agree, a movie of this would be a bore. Rowan Atkinson as Ghosn would be fun.  Beat Takeshi as Saikawa also.

To be honest regardless that he allegedly took a few mill in perks. What he did to with Nissan he deserved a hell of a lot more. Renault would have been better of to have continued to support him and now that he is out of Japan they should have offered him his job back. And then attempt a hostile take over of Nissan.

As opposed to socialism, where more people become pawns in their games.

Wow, imagine what can happened , when Carlos seeks the truth ???. Look here, this is not such a difficult problem if one understands japanese accounting system. Nissan is a japanese company, Carlos do not read or write japanese and those japanese working with him are not that honest either. saikawa for 2 years was still cheating nissan and all people involved with nissan, was Carlos at nissan during his 2 years tenture ???. Controllers at nissan are japanese for sure, nissan is a public company. To declare accounts in japan , it must be in japanese language, a system that is too out of date. Looking at just these few points, it is time , everyone stop chasing non-existance excuses and come to terms with the reak truth. it is not a matter of ego and the fear of mistakes , it is wasting precious time for all involved and a damm japanese bad example.

From Hero to Zero... what a sad situation to fall upon one who had been credited in Saving many Japanese Salaryman jobs at Nissan... now look at what state Nissan is in. As is all too common, when a high profile figure has been knocked down, the Vultures circle in for a piece of the prey.
