Fukuoka man held after 5 robberies committed in one hour

A 34-year-old man was arrested for robbery in the city of Yukuhashi, Fukuoka Prefecture, on Sunday, police said Monday, adding that they are looking into a possible connection between that crime and a spate of other violent robberies in the area shortly after.

Police identified the suspect as Hideo Nakano, who works as a truck driver. They said that he allegedly approached a 27-year-old female restaurant employee as she was walking home around 1:50 a.m. Sunday, grabbed her by the arm and threatened her with a knife. He demanded cash and made off with about 45,000 yen.

Over the next hour, five other robberies were reported. Police said that in all the cases, an adult male brandished a knife and robbed four male taxi drivers and a female restaurant employee.

Police picked up Nakano because he was seen driving a black car that matched a description of the getaway vehicle.

Glad they nailed him...probably had no time to spend the money either.

Do you think the guy was maybe stretching it a bit? Should have stopped earlier. Glad they got him, though.

Seems that crime is on the up down Fukuoka way.

No Saitama connections in any of these recent crimes?

A criminal mastermind... not

Those illegal drugs running through his skull (only a crack head junkie or mad man would do that) must have made him forget that he was a on the run from the last four robberies

5 robberies in an hour? If only all the other youth of Japan had his energy for enterprise - in a good way of course - this country may eventually get out of it's two-decade slump!

In seriousness, I hope this maggot cops a 15 year stint at the government's pleasure.

Well of course we all know that the bad guys drive black cars - this was an easy one the police to solve.

Probably there is a lot of information missing here. A bloke robs 5 people in one night and besides his part time job he is a truck driver. Lovely; probably the usual shabu head. But shabu is seldom mentioned, because we all know that Japan has no particular shabu problem.
