Gang robs pachinko parlor in Oita Prefecture

A gang of men stole several million yen from a pachinko parlor in Nakatsu, Oita Prefecture, early Sunday.

According to police, an employee in his 20s had just locked up and was preparing to go home at 12:30 a.m. when he was accosted by a group of men at the back door, Sankei Shimbun reported. They forced him back inside, threatened him with a knife and demanded money.

The employee handed over several million from the office safe. The employee told police that the pachinko parlor had a lot of money in the safe because banks had been closed since Thursday.

The gang then fled. Police said the employee told them they were all dressed in black and wearing helmets or black face masks.

According to Redit:

"Korean general unions do shady business too and maybe have connections to yakuza but not really a yakuza itself, in the same way far right groups or cults religious groups are not yakuza.

All pachinkos are subsidiaries of yaks and thangs. aka "yak gang"

Not true. I have a zanichi Korean friend in Japan whose family runs a chain of pachinko parlors around the country amongst other normal business ventures. They are well off, but have zero affiliation with gangs.

Yaks are having a hard time these days so doing over a business you control is a pretty safe bet.

A successfully canalized robbery like this one has at least the advantage that those gangs don’t threaten or even hurt or kill many normal people walking outside at night as it is usual in most other countries.

I don't want anyone thinking that this was an INSIDE job. Get the thought of an INSIDE job out of your head. Oh, one more thing..

INSIDE job!

Highly doubt that timing is a coincidence. They knew exactly when to strike for maximum impact.

Hope police will catch them ASAP.

Some people have a second safe. One is for keeping the criminals satisfied.

would be cool to also have that tube system like they have in hotels.
