Good. He got what he deserved.

Paralympic committee taking violations of the 'Playbook' more seriously than the Olympic Committee.

Who cares…cancel the rest too, that’s much more important.

''He is accused of breaking a rib of the security guard, a man in his 60s, on the morning of Aug 12 when he jumped on top of him and grabbed his neck.''
At least one year in jail before deportation.

Ejected for “allegedly” committing an offence! What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty.
Meiyouwenti
Innocent until proven guilty? The barbarians from Georgia would have faced criminal charges if they weren’t Paralympic athletes.
Peeping_Tom
"What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty."
He admitted to the charges saying "I have no excuses".
Is this enough for you?

Aggression met with more aggression…

I had Georgia on my mind and came to tell the same joke but you beat me to it.

The Some has the sum of 100,000 students as was posted in other articles on JT this week.
Koike supports it as does Suga.

A super noisy Georgian.

Doesnt exist in Japan at least for the gaijins(foreigners of japan). Why you think Carlos escaped Japan?

What a fierce disabled guy.
Peeping_Tom
"What a fierce disabled guy."
He's not your "regular disabled" guy.
He is an Olympic Gold medallist; visual impairment does not stop anyone from becoming a Judoka.
He is capable of defeating most "regular" people out there.
As far as I am concerned he's getting away lightly, as a ban from competitions should be mandatory for similar cases.
An Olympic Gold champion, drunkenly attacking "regular" people?
And causing bodily harm too!
Just imagine it was a certain Abe, Hifumi.
This site would have crashed by now.
I bet Kanō is turning in his grave.

Peeping Tom, at what point in the above article does it state he admitted it? Either you are inventing it (are you a Japanese prosecutor?) or provide a reference from whence you garnered this gem?
Jayel
The judoka's name is Zviad Gogochuri, he competes at 90kg, is visually impaired and was ranked 2nd in the world. If he throws you or even moves you around, blind or not, you are going to feel it, especially if you are 60 years old.
When questioned by the police, he apparently said that he did it and has no excuses for doing it.
At 34 years old this was probably his last chance at the Olympics as well. I'm sure he will regret in on his way back to Georgia.

Ah, Gladys Night.... one of the best soul pieces of all times. Love getting drunk to that. Of course, I am not longing to be on the same plane with this moron...

Actually, with Judo, being visually impaired does not mean all that much. As long as he has a grip on you, he does not really need eyes. Some BJJ friends of mine regularly play with eyes closed, it is actually good practise.

Unjustified aggression met with justified punishment.

1) This is NOT the only piece dealing with this;
2) You can EASILY ascertain the quote; two seconds search max;
3) I wouldn't have quoted him had he not MADE the admission,
Simples.

Idiot. Throwing away his Olympic chance because of too much booze. An embarrassment to the country he is representing.
