Ghosn lawyers rebut new Nissan claims against fugitive exec

Nissan confirmed both were true, but denied there was any conflict of interest. The company said it considered it inappropriate to contact Ghosn or Kelly because the company and they were co-defendants.

“This report confirms that Nissan's investigation was biased, lacked integrity and independence, and was designed and executed for the predetermined purpose of taking out Carlos Ghosn,” the lawyers said in a statement.

Hell ya! And those guys are Japanese. Lets see them get accused of Japan bashing .

So if Ghosn misappropriated funds like Saikawa who could he not gotten the same reprieve as Saikawa? Return X number yen by March?

Hah, now that Ghosn is no longer being held hostage and under threat of re-arrest as soon as he tries to publicly refute this hit job I wonder if Nissan and the prosecutors are going to stop making these kinds of statements which are easily disproven and only give more attention to what a disaster this is!

Ask Goshn yourself but he could not explain in a fair trial. You are presuming guilt and he could ne be failry tried. Understand the principles of fair law and human rights fundamentals !

It's him who run away from such trial. and 99% conviction rate cannot be any excuse　（US is also 99% including plea of guilty bargaining). His rebut so far .... [It's all business and it's all signed off internally]

I believe he has taken advantage of his situation, like many executives of large companies.

Funny how the naysayers clammed up the moment the evidence became overwhelming. I still recall the derision I received when I said the accusations didn't pass smell test. The vindication is all so delicious.

Nissan and Tokyo Prosecutors can't bring Ghosn down. He "single-handedly" run Nissan and the alliance which consist of 180,000+ people, which obviously now that he's gone the alliance is collapsing esp. financially.

Will a husband accidentally stick his foot where he shouldn't. He's put away unable to see the spouse & family. Conflicting signs. Ghosn BS おもてなし.

Today I fear more for the future of Japan than for Ghosn or Kelly. We're no longer in Edo. This has all been transferred to the international court of opinions. Japan is on the defense and the judges are waiting for answers.

This is impossible. His salary would have had to have been cleared by the board of directors. I'm starting to understand why the prosecutors kept delaying his trial. It wasn't so they could build a stronger case against Ghosn. It was to give Nissan a chance to clean up all their bookwork to make it look like Ghosn acted on his own.

This is exactly right! Whatever Ghosn and Kelly may (or may not) have done, what is clear that there was no attempt to fairly get the facts. There certainly was no presumption of innocence by those involved in Nissan with ousting Ghosn.

No, this was exactly as Ghosn's lawers described. A concerted, coordinated hit job undertaken together by the Japanese authorities and the J management at Nissan. Specifically, Saikawa.

Saikawa hasn’t been charged with a crime despite under reporting his income? No double-standard to see here, folks. Move along.

Nissan can't put together a real case, just make accusations. The more they bleet the more we learn. Good catch bythe defence lawyers to show the conflict of interests. If nissan had a case it just fell apart again

Also Saikawa was never in jail so as long as that is true this will never end for nissan
