Carlos is free. Period. The Japanese can huff and puff, but they can no longer blow Carlos’ house down!

I wouldn't count out the Japanese in all of this just yet. Seems like all the recent news is coming from foreign outlets and nothing of any substance is coming from Japan or Japanese government agencies.

Sure there is egg on the faces of the authorities here, but their silence right now says to me, that they are planning something!

Par for the course.

Sure there is egg on the faces of the authorities here, but their silence right now says to me, that they are planning something!

Like they planned the surveillance of Ghosn?

Japan never disappoints me. Again, it is always amazing.

The Japanese are trying to cope with so many arriving and departing foreigners that it seems Ghosn got lost in the crowd....

I think you'll find that he will be arrested pretty soon. Someone like Ghosn isn't the type to stay in one place. He'll attempt to go somewhere and get arrested again. Mark my words.

The Lebanese authorities’ claim that Carlos Ghosn entered the country on a valid passport hence no need for his extradition is lame. Ghosn is not just a fugitive; he’s an indicted criminal suspect who paid 1.5 billion-yen bail to earn his freedom out of detention. He betrayed his lawyers and all those who helped him. The whole world is watching. He will get a fair trial in Japan.

Yawn, nothing's going to happen.

As I have always stated, white collar crime pays and big too. Martha Stewart went to prison, still has millions, the TEPCO executives, all free and even more rich today, no prison, GHOSN ranks at the top, keeps all the money and no prison. need I say more proof is needed. Lebanon is only going through formalities. Ghosn more than likely is laughing and "kampai"

Nice timing though. Slip out just before New Year while all the bureaucrats are sipping sake, and the airport services are running at capacity.

He will probably run to Brazil next it's big enough to hide out.

Yes.

He's probably in Brazil now :D

Convict him in absentia, seize his assets and put up a bounty on him and his accomplices. Plenty of people in Lebanon who will work for the highest bidder.

I don’t know what kind of an associate Imad Ajami is

Carlos Ghosn's Support Committee Coordinator. PR staff.

For France, he hired Anne Méaux. Before, she's worked for Ben Ali...

The summons is just a formality required by international law and Interpol. It is extremely unlikely anything will come of it as Ghosn has not broken any laws in Lebanon.

Ghosn has been accused of crime. The prosecutor‘s say they have evidence. So start the proceedings now; in his absence.

Civilian plane have transponder, which ID a plane Ghosn plane landed in Kansai at 1016 am JST Saturday and departed at 1110 pm Sunday ,it was parked at Kansai for 36 hours, when it departed from Japan over Russia to Turkey

From what I recently saw of Kansai airport, the staff there cannot even get the Chinese to follow the lines to security-it was a mess!

Interesting the words  "indicted criminal suspect" Ghosn is innocent until proven guilty, he has not had a trial neither has he be found to be guilty of any charges, the only charge that could be brought is skipping bail. Yes I agree the justice system needs an overhaul, but this will turn into political theatre, because this is world news and Japan does not like to be seen in an embarrassing light. Now Japan will use its political system to bring pressure on Lebanon , whether it be for future trade or investment. It could get very interesting to see how this plays out

Bruce WayneToday 10:04 am JSTHe will probably run to Brazil next it's big enough to hide out.

Ronnie Biggs of the Great Train Robbery spent decades in Brazil and he got his justice only after returning to the UK himself.

Also recall the flights of glam rocker Gary Glitter. He fled to Cambodia, got kicked out then went to Vietnam where he committed pedo crimes again and spent years in prison. Vietnam kicked him out and he's back in the UK under total house arrest.

He will get a fair trial in Japan

I can’t see how he would. The Japanese “justice” system works on the premise of guilty until proven guilty. That’s how Japan can boast about its 99% conviction rate. Looking back at how Japanese execs have been caught doing misconduct and all they had to do was bow publicly and that was the end of it. Olympus covered up $1.7 billion in losses and the chairman and some execs only got suspended sentences. Ghosn might not be clean but I don’t blame him for escape the unjust Japanese justice system. Meanwhile Saikawa could simply step down when it came to light about overpayment of remuneration. The bias is quite clear to see, he was never going to get a fair trial

He will get a fair trial in Japan

No he won’t! He won’t get any trial in Japan. He is gone and there is nothing Japan can do to bring him back from Lebanon
