Golf pro arrested for touching woman’s buttocks, breasts during lesson

Police in Sanda, Hyogo Prefecture, have arrested a golf pro on suspicion of sexual assault after he allegedly touched a female student’s body during a golf lesson.

Police said Norio Ohmura, 46, is accused of touching the buttocks and breasts of a woman in her 30s at a golf facility in Nishinomiya City between 8:45 p.m. and 9:05 p.m. on July 21, Kyodo News reported.

According to police reports, Ohmura worked part-time at the facility as a golf instructor. He approached the woman and said he would “watch her swing” and give her some advice.

The victim filed a criminal complaint with police on July 24.

Police said Ohmura, who was arrested on Monday, has denied the allegation and quoted him as saying, “I touched the woman’s body to show her the correct stance, but there was nothing obscene about it.”

Very hard to prove even if he’s guilty but if they do the old up to 21 days locked up he may admit anyway

If the person receiving the golf lesson had been a male, or a foreigner, or overweight and middle-aged, then 'Golf Instructor' Norio Ohmura would have been nowhere to be found, smoking cigarettes in the toilet...

Virtually every personal trainer at my gym could be arrested if public hands-on posture correction is determined to be criminal.

Nihon

What you say is totally irrelevant to the facts and he’s not famous, a golf pro doesn’t mean he’s famous it means he can teach people at a golf club.

You are presuming guilt the same as girl in Tokyo which is morally wrong.

The old perv has probably been doing the same thing for years. Stuff like that always catches up with you.

Please quote the post - I haven't made such a post, so I'm curious as to where you even got this idea from.

Also, I wonder: isn't presuming the woman is lying also morally wrong? Where is your evidence? Hm.

Are they posture-correcting by touching the woman's breasts?

I'm no expert, but as someone who has breasts, I am not aware that posture can be corrected by manually manipulating breasts.

Golf pro arrested for touching woman’s buttocks, breasts during lesson

Touching woman’s buttocks in national headlines..

Proving again and again that Japan is one of the safest countries to live in the world..

Like it or not..

I have seen male ballet teachers touching female dancers legs and arms and head to correct their posture, and they also do it to the men. But a golf teacher touching a women's breast and rear end cannot in anyway be construed as 'golfing lessons' .....

Why wouldn't people be happy that Japan is safe?

And as that is the case, then all the people who have experienced sexual harassment and assault, such as the boys who were raped for years by Johnny Kitagawa, have no reason to be upset or complain about Japan's treatment of victims of sexual violence, huh.

I think he confused his JAV gig with this golf one.

I mean the heat will do that to you.

He say she say.

What is the piece of evidence before throwing his name to national news ?

I am not against this article but innocent until proven guilty !

He say she say.

He was arrested - the police don't arrest people without evidence, so we can assume that there is evidence.

Do you have any evidence she is lying? Or is this just a blind accusation without any basis?

What is the piece of evidence before throwing his name to national news ?

Does there need to be a trial before any crimes are reported as news?

I don't see you in the comments section of any other articles here making this point. Hm.

I am not against this article but innocent until proven guilty !

It seems you are against printing articles about sexual assault.

Push the breasts and the buttocks in simultaneously and thank me later for your straight posture.

That's not how this works. At all.

Are they posture-correcting by touching the woman's breasts?

So you have tried and convicted the guy already! The incident is alleged to have happened, yet here you go accepting the allegations as FACTS and finding the guy guilty, without any proof or evidence to back it up!

I'm no expert, but as someone who has breasts, I am not aware that posture can be corrected by manually manipulating breasts.

You are inserting your false allegations against the man by your conjecture here.

He was arrested - the police don't arrest people without evidence, so we can assume that there is evidence.

You know this to be incorrect and just a difference in Japanese and English. He is not "arrested" until the public prosecutor formally charges him. He has been detained for suspicion of a crime.

Once again, siding with the allegations made by a woman, against a man, and once again you finding the man guilty.

It's obvious your hatred of "men" in general, but it's truly hypocritical on your part to call out others regarding "morality"

The prior poster had said that the man was correcting the woman's posture. I pointed out that the woman had said that the man had touched her breasts, not corrected her posture. This is a correction of information that is found in the article - it makes no suggestions, nor does it draw any conclusions.

I'm no expert, but as someone who has breasts, I am not aware that posture can be corrected by manually manipulating breasts.

Again, I am correcting the poster on the information that was included in the article. I am not conjecturing, as this information is directly stated in the article.

He was arrested - the police don't arrest people without evidence, so we can assume that there is evidence.

The article says "arrested". Again, the police in Japan do not arrest people without evidence of a crime. This would be a violation of their rights.

I think you are confusing this with taking someone in for questioning, because the police can question people without needing evidence - all they need is suspicion. For an arrest, the police need a warrant, which requires evidence, or, as stated below, "reasonable suspicion", and is granted by a judge.

Once again, siding with the allegations made by a woman, against a man, and once again you finding the man guilty.

And once again, you are saying that I said something that I very, very clearly did not say.

It's obvious your hatred of "men" in general, but it's truly hypocritical on your part to call out others regarding "morality"

Again, I do not hate men. I'm not sure how many times more I have to state this.

FYI:

Q1. In Japan, who decides whether an arrest or detention is to be granted, and what are the requirements for arresting or detaining a person?

A suspect may be arrested only if there is probable cause to suspect that he/she has committed a crime, except in cases such as arresting a person in the act of committing a crime. The arrest must be based on a warrant issued by a judge, who is independent from the investigative authority and not involved in the investigation.

A suspect may be detained, upon request from a prosecutor, for a period of up to 10 days in each case only if an independent judge finds that there is probable cause to suspect that the person has committed a crime and there is a risk of concealing or destroying evidence of crime or fleeing from justice. The period of detention may be extended by up to 10 days only if the judge finds that there are unavoidable circumstances.

Even in your own post, you prove yourself wrong! Thank you

There was NO taiho-jyou issued, no arrest warrant issued, and everyone here, including you, knows damn well the police CAN and do detain people without evidence of a crime.

Everything else you wrote is just fluff for the FACTS I stated about you again!

If I am wrong, I'll be happy to correct my posts.

As for the personal insults, I see no address those again.

The police can arrest someone and hold them for 23 days without charging them which means sending the case to the public prosecutor.

Was arrested and detained for 10 days with just the word of a mentally Ill women who made accusations out of spite. After the police spoke to her on two more occasions they realised she was not telling the truth. Despite that was held for the permitted period until seeing the prosecutor who said I can go free without charge, but that wasn’t until 3pm the next day.

Easy to get arrested and detained by a malicious individual, in my case a woman.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

That's a rough story. I'm glad you didn't end up spending a full 23 days or more in there, and that they sorted it out when they did. The police in Japan sometimes don't care much about clearing someone's name, they just want to find a culprit.

What an incredibly ridicilous claim! If a woman says "He did so and so to me!" (here in Japn, at least!) The law is AUTOMATICALLY on her side and start to treat the guy as a hardened criminal and don't believe the man! He is arrestes for 21 days without ANY evidence. Within those 21 days, the police have to try to find evidence to either keep him or release him. By law, they CANNOT, but they still do which is a whole problem whithin itself.

I mean, do you ever read your own comments after you post it and think "Wait, that looks wrong!"?
