Groper says he couldn’t resist 'young females’ breasts'

On Dec 12, police officers in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, arrested a man on charges of groping three women. The first incident took place at approximately 6:55 p.m. on Oct 18 when the man fondled the chest of a woman on the street in Saiwai Ward. Less than 30 minutes later, he grabbed and embraced another victim from behind, also in Saiwai Ward, and shortly after 9 p.m. on Nov 1, he grabbed yet another Saiwai Ward victim.

The man has admitted to the charges, and offered a common explanation for such crimes in Japan: “I am interested in young female’s breasts, so I wanted to touch them.”

Typical old pervert who can’t control his jail-bait fetishes, right? Well, not exactly. First off, the groper isn’t that old; he’s only 18, a Chinese-nationality resident who’s attending vocational school. The three woman were aged 24, 29 and 41. All three have full-time office jobs, and were presumably on their way home from work at the time the incidents took place.

This is actually the man’s second time to be arrested, as he was also arrested on charges of groping a 23-year-old woman on Nov 22.

I criticized your opinion, and here you are, still talking about it, so I think I could ask you the same thing - "are you still on that."

As I said, criticizing someone's opinion is not censorship.

You’re mixing threads. I know it’s hard but please try to stay on topic.

I never said criticizing someone’s opinion was censorship. Please calm down and read more carefully.

So many on the right very mistakenly think that freedom of speech somehow means freedom from their inanity being pointed out. And that pointing out stupidity is censorship.

Are you still on that?? I don't see any comments here that are breaking any rules, or are vile and or demeaning - at least not from me. Let's move on. Mmm 'k?

Spring chickens, all of 'em, especially the first two!

I'm a guy and appreciate the physical attributes of females as much as the next guy, but if the most perfectly physically endowed female has no personality or brains, she loses to the female who may not be physically well endowed but has a nice personality and brains in my book.

Being asked politely not to do something is not censorship.

And if one has been asked politely not to do something, and continuing to do that thing breaks the rules of that platform, then taking away their posting privileges is not censorship.

There are still plenty of places both on and offline where people can express vile or demeaning opinions.

Critisicism is not censorship.

Banning someone is not criticism. It's censorship.

A year or two ago, there was a teenage girl giving free hugs/gropes in either Shibuya or Shinjuku. Memory a bit hazy about the actual report but what I do remember was, again, the "jokey" responses from male posters how they'd be up for a bit of that etc.

The kid may well need deporting but it would seem he also needs some kind of psychiatric help, as well.

Err... really? Even if your "identify" as the other gender?

yes, really.

Stating that can can get you banned from some social media these days...

I know. Censorship is alive and well.

If someone were to grope a man, would be called that person a “gropem”?

The Japanese word for that is "chijou", as opposed to chikan. Never happened to me, but it did happen to friends of mine, who apparently look more irresistable than I. They found it rather weird, but did not run to the police about it.

I don't blame them for not wanting to go to the police. The police don't care, won't do anything, and will often try to turn it around on the women and tell them it's their own fault for daring to exist in public. I'm actually surprised whenever I see an article where someone was actually arrested for this type of sexual assault. The reporting rate is just 4% for sex crimes, so just imagine how many women, knowing how they will be treated if they report, just give up before they even try,

Boogleboy:

Then why don't you get implants for yourself?

Clever, but physical alterations don’t change one’s gender.

No, those words are used to describe the attacker's sex. If a guy gropes another guy, he's still "chikan".

Bewbies.........

Well, if ya put it that way, that sounds reasonable enough, /s

“I am interested in young female’s breasts, so I wanted to touch them.”

Most guys are like that, with the variety of the Japanese redlight entertainment why didn't he just go to one of those establishments.

Yubaru, you should know by now as long as you have posted and been in Japan, this is Japan. Western values and moral thinking has not business here.

"This is actually the man’s second time to be arrested, as he was also arrested on charges of groping a 23-year-old woman on Nov 22."

And what was done about it? Nothing. Hence, rinse and repeat. What will be done about it this time? Nothing. So... let's see... Nov. 22nd to Dec. 12th... that's exactly three weeks, so we'll be reading about this guy doing the same thing at Hatsumoude on January 2nd or 3rd. I mean, unless the government wants to start treating minors, even though 18 is the new age of adulthood, as adults.

fondled the chest of a woman

really? this is how the writer of this news explain the crime? embraced from behind?

he committed a sexual assault/harassment, physically touched women without consent.

please show some consideration for the victims on how you explain the incident. and don't explain it as a pornographically story

@theFu, @Ganbare Japan!

I get it, and agree with you, Deportation and ban as a punishment for sexual assault.

But what about the Japanese-national sexual assault criminal who are released with no charges nor crime record (especially middle aged cooperate men)? they should expel them too?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Please deport this rubbish and ban him for life from entering Japan.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Deportation is the answer.

Why hasn't his student visa been revoked and him kicked out of the country yet?

He's a repeat sexual offender so surely he should've been on a plane back to China after the first arrest?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

How the hell did a foreigner get arrested for this and not deported or whatever the first time? They're not sending their best!

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Offcourse there are urges, but instead of assaulting random women ,why not just go and pay for it... it is not that expensive and pretty common service in most red light areas...

I really dont get these idiots

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Well said Yubaru. Non-consensual touching is assault, not "fondling".

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I am not sure if SoraNews24 is a serious news channel. They have some trivial news . Of course the kid has committed assault.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Many guys have the same thoughts, but the difference is that many guys don't actually act on them.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

The language used by the writer does not suggest they have any understanding of what sexual assault is, or how traumatic it is for the victim.

I'm sure that is true. However, "fondle" and "embrace" explain how the attacker assaulted (that's the word you were looking for, I suppose) the victims.

To be honest, I'd expect this kind of reporting from SoraNews24 and TokyoReporter, as they are more of the tabloid end of the foreign media in Japan.

I do not understand how any writer, male or female, can't tell by the name, that would make light of a sexual predator.

So not only does the writer play down the seriousness of the assaults they also provide what appears to be false information as well.

Sora "News" has a history of this. It seems to be some kind of editorial policy, attempting to treat disturbing stories of sexual assault as jokey comedy.

OOOOKKKKAAAYYY....Sense of entitlement, anyone?

0 ( +4 / -4 )

I do not understand how any writer, male or female, can't tell by the name, that would make light of a sexual predator.

It is truly disgusting, and in my opinion, the author owes a huge apology to the women who were assaulted by this creep! Making light of a serious issue like this, makes it appear as if they actually condone the behavior.

There is nothing funny about the article, and the cops should have done a hell of a lot more. Not to mention that this is inaccurate here as well

This is actually the man’s second time to be arrested, as he was also arrested on charges of groping a 23-year-old woman on Nov 22.

IF he was arrested, he would have been charged, and as a foreigner, more than likely held in detention until trial. Failing any extraordinary circumstances, there is no way the cops would have let him back on the street if he had in fact been arrested.

So not only does the writer play down the seriousness of the assaults they also provide what appears to be false information as well.
