Ground Self-Defense Force member arrested for breaking into home in Chiba Prefecture

Police in Narashino, Chiba Prefecture, have arrested a 27-year-old sergeant in the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) on suspicion of breaking into a home while drunk on Saturday.

According to police, Kaito Sugimoto, a JGSDF sergeant first class stationed at the Narashino Training Area, broke into the home of an 80-year-old woman via the second-floor balcony at around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, Kyodo News reported.

The startled woman called 110. Police said Sugimoto was intoxicated at the time and quoted him as saying he couldn’t remember what he did.

I would love to see how in the world he climbed up to or got on to the 2nd floor balcony. He's lucky the old bird didnt die of a heart attack!

Give her credit too for keeping her wits about herself and calling the cops!

There are many similar incidents in Okinawa with US military breaking into people's homes. And now the Japanese military are doing it.
