Hackers pick Google's pocket with Mac virus

LOL!! How the heck do you think PCs got viruses?! A hacker coughing across the Internet?

Viruses don't just wait for a PC to power up, and then hop on board. Visiting the "wrong" website or opening the "wrong" mail are precisely how PCs get viruses. And this is different from some 600,000 Macs becoming infected with the Flashback virus how exactly. . . ?

This is what throws PC users into paroxysm of utter bafflement when Mac users tout the hitherto undocumented invincibility of Macs against a persistent hacker with time and a grudge -- Ignorance. Complete, absolute, talking-squarely-from-a-foundation of zero ignorance.

Heck, industry professionals are calling it a virus, even while you numptyheads continue to wring your hands and pray that the God of Macintosh will somehow spare you from the ineveitable.

Honestly, while I don't like to see hackers gain any measure of satisfation in destroying precious data or productivity, I'll state quite honestly that I giggle every time I see equal measures of arrogance and ignorance smacked down by a heavy dose of reality.

You Mac folks want to keep perpetuating the myth that your machines are magically immune to the predations of hackers? Go right ahead. But don't run whining to your PC friends for help to staunch the data wound because you erroneously thought you were too smart to fall for the very same tricks that made viruses spread so successfully across the PC platform when Microsoft had 95 percent of the market share and clientele who were and still are smarter than you or me combined.

I have no idea why they are running this article. This trojan was squashed over a month ago. The Apple support forums are full of people in a panic over this 'minor' trojan. It was only a danger for stupid people that would click on unknown links and open ridiculous emails. And, Macs do not get viruses! Only stupid Mac users get them. The biggest malware for a Mac is antivirus software.

Get Avast. It is a free anti-virus software that works great. They also have great personal service. Does not slow your machines down at all.

My, how Mac-aholics cling to any shred of driftwood in the hopes that their Mac cannot get viruses. It's been YEARS since a virus (note I said VIRUS) infected a computer without some action on the part of the end user. Most viruses are now ALSO trojans. If the payload contained in a trojan has a module that looks at your email contact list and sends copies of itself out, then it's a trojan virus.

The only reason Macs have not had the virus issues that PCs have is because Macs were such a small percentage of the world market that they were a statistical non-entity. Hackers would look at the PC market and the Mac market and ask, "Which one would get me in all the world newspapers?" DUH! It's a no-brainer! Now that Apple sales are up thanks to their eyePhone, Mac-aholics can look forward to being confronted with reality. Your computer is just as vulnerable as any other computer and you need to take precautions, Macboy.

Macs don't have viruses. If you're surfing disreputable sites on the net and if you ignore the instruction to download some software and enter your password, you won't get trojans on a Mac either.
