A 17-year-old high school boy has been arrested on suspicion of violating the Stimulants Control Law after he was found in a park in Samukawa, Kanagawa Prefecture, in possession of a powder mixed with stimulants and cocaine.
According to police, the boy was picked up while sitting on a park bench at around 10:30 p.m. on Oct 18. Fuji TV reported that the boy, who is enrolled in a correspondence course for high school, was questioned by a police officer who noticed him sitting alone on the bench. He then pulled out a small bag, which contained the powdered mixture.
Police quoted the boy as saying, “I had the drug because I thought it was cool,” and that he got it from someone in a nearby park.
Police are questioning him further on from whom he obtained the illegal substances.

Well, from his point of view at least he had some of the proper stuff in it.

The police can search you anytime anywhere. There are laws against it, but if you refuse they'll just haul you off to the can where you can be kept for 21 days without a charge.

I'm sure this is only the tip of the iceberg.....

Dagon, a crime is a crime. And not to mention that the kid had a stimulant mixed with cocaine, if not cocaine itself. The cop might have saved him from addiction to that substance.

Public Enemy Number One ! Boy sitting in park with controlled substance may have found some meaning to existence! It is not like any other greater crimes are beng committed to the public good! Fanatstic use of my income and residential tax dollars (minus any rights or welfare benefits) to apprehend this terror to society that is unparalleled by any apparent others!

I find it amusing that the cops always need to find the source of these drugs?
They already know.....

So, if you don't want to alert police suspicions don't be sitting alone on a park bench at 10:30.
But why did the boy pull out anything? Anyone know the stop-and-search situation in Japan?
