High school girl slashed in neck by man in Chofu

A 17-year-old high school girl was slashed in the neck by a man in Chofu on Saturday night, police said Sunday.

According to police, the attack occurred at around 9:30 p.m. The girl told police that she was walking along a sidewalk when a man came up behind her without any warning, stabbed her in the neck with a knife-like weapon and then fled on foot. The girl hailed a passing taxi and told the driver to take her to the hospital.

Police said the only description they have of the assailant is that he was in his 20s or early 30s.

Hey, the guy was probably just lost his job or his wife or both, give him a break, lol. I hope the cops catch this guy ASAP.

There seem to be several of these nutters running around the country. If society had its priorities straight, they might be in custody by now.

I hope the girl will be okay and that the guy will get tackled before he does this again and get jailed for life.

Give him a break? Geez Sarge, what if that was your daughter? You'd be beyond livid. Nothing like a little distance from the live situation to allow for composure, huh?

Back home if someone gets stabbed it's usually because of something like a mugging, or perhaps drug-related. This random stabbing business is just downright scary.

isthistheend - I think you missed the sarcasm in Sarge's post. His avatar should be a salt shaker. But, yeah! These nuts pop-up way too often in Japan although, there hasn't been any of these kinds of attacks for a few months. - Hang on! Did I just express relief because no Japanese loon has been running around slashing at people for a few months? I must be getting used to the general insanity of the worlds largest asylum.

That's psycho! Hope the girl recovers.

"Knife-like object"???

need more details...was it another pair of scissors?

Considering she was calm enough to hail a taxi and go to the hospital, I doubt it was a serious cut.

Where're the cops when you need 'em?

That's scary...being the same age as the girl, I know I would freak out if that happened to me.

Wrong. What I guess happened was that it was serious but she realised if she panicked she'd lose more blood due to increased heart rate, and was able to be calm enough to get a taxi. Credit to her.

I hope they catch this scumbag,

@isthistheened - You must have missed my lol - it was irony, of course I don't think the idiot should be forgiven, he must be punished! Severely!

As a guy who is a little older than the girl, I wouldn't exactly be calm about that happening to me.

This is NOTHING to laugh about! This is nothing to give a break to, this punk needs to put in jail, behind bars, ASAP! If this fool did this to my wife or daughter, I would cut him up into many, many tiny pieces and feed them to all the nice hungry KARASU in my area!
