High school student beaten, robbed by 3 men in Mie

Metal baseball bats to rob a school girl and for ¥3000 yen?! Hope they catch them soon before they hurt someone seriously.

Wow! The girl has spunk! Being hit in the face by two thugs while the third loser grabs her bag, she must have been frightened and in shock. But she still has the courage to run after them! While I wish I had her strength and courage to endure a beating and give some lickings in return, I most probably would have been seriously injured or dead. Hope those losers are quickly apprehended and given a taste of their own medicine.

Police said the girl chased the men and tried to get her bag back, but she was beaten again. Police said the girl was taken to hospital where she received five stitches to close up the wound on her lower lip

This kind of illogical bravery will always get you killed.

Boy how times have changed. As a high school student, if I wasn't home by 8:00 on a school night the doors would get locked and I'd be stuck outside thinking of a good story to tell the parents.

Might have been on a deserted street. Going home alone at that time gets me thinkink how much Japan has changed. If possible she should have been escorted.

Neither went to the police to report the incidents. Why? The cops won't do anything and it's a waste of time. Glad this girl went to the police. Take care folks. There are a lot of inicidents like this one that don't get reported nor any media attention.

Man, she must have not been hit very hard if she was able to run after them immediately or she is an iron girl. Police, go get these suckas.

@DaDude Well, I thought as you did but a metal bat is a metal bat. I really wonder if the doctor checked her out. The two guys might have just gestured in a threatening manner then when she ran after them, used their fists. Or if she might have really great self preservation instincts and also studied self defense so was able to dodge being hit and caught the bats as the thugs swung them. (too many Jackie Chan movies? =p) Gotta read between the lines.

Kudos to her for not wanting to put up with this B.S., but you're right in that it probably wasn't the wisest course of action to go after three guys with bats who had already demonstrated their willingness to use them.

The very fact that this minor assault is in the headlines is a good reminderthat Japan is a pretty safe country.

My ex was attacked by some skum bag in Aoyama Cemetary, it is a common walk way to get from Nogizaka station over to the other side of that area (forgot what it's called). She was wearing the engagement ring I gave her, a raised, Marquise type, decent sized diamond. When the ass came at her, she SWUNG at him, and sucessfully SLASHED him well enough that he RAN OFF. Later, she told me there was NO WAY he was going to take her BAG, then he would have known where she LIVED. Was proud to know I was married to a real FIGHTER.
