A man robbed an am/pm convenience store in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, early Monday morning, getting away with 200,000 yen, police said. Police said the man entered the store about 3 a.m. and went to the toilet. He then came out and told the 66-year-old sales clerk that the toilet was broken. When the clerk went to check on the toilet, the man pulled a 10-cm-long knife and told him not to resist and demanded he empty the two cash registers.
Police said the thief was in his 20s, about 160-170 cms tall and was wearing a black sweater and black pants.

Don't forget the famous line, " Say hello to my little friend ".

Can't wait to see the sword fights in my local conbini. Or, to quote David Mamet (Untouchables)
"They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Sarge way!"

"the man pulled a 10-cm-long knife"
This is why all convenience store clerks should have 20-cm-long knives.

They're called windows in the west. (Not the Microsoft variety.) On topic: at least the 66-year-old didn't try to stop him and get himself killed for am/pm's bottom line. (And at least it wasn't a 19-year-old this time.)

Or invent a method to check the conditiono of the toilets in convenience store remotely.

Robots-robots, that's the answer to the plague of the convenience store!! Robots equipt with ned guns or guns filled with very-very sticky glue or paste. Dog shaped robots that can photograph and record voices and smells. Motherly robots that can chastise the wayward robbers. AND KILLER robots who can incinerate those who prey upon the convenience store !!!!!!!!!!!!!

A very tricky 'scumbag.' It will be good idea to nab him and stick him into thwe toilet for few days.Convenience stores should improve their security with direct police emergency contact
