Police said Monday that an 80-year-old man and his eldest son were stabbed to death by a relative at their home in Higashi-Hiroshima on Sunday.

The incident took place at the home of Takeshi Higashi, where seven family members reportedly live together, TBS reported. Police were called to the house at around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday by Higashi's 23-year-old grandson. Police arrived at the residence to find Higashi and his 56-year-old son Yuichi stabbed to death. Higashi's grandson was bleeding from knife wounds to his wrists, police said.

TBS said Higashi's grandson was taken to hospital for treatment, where police say he made comments that intimated that he was responsible for the murders. An investigation is underway, in which the rest of the family will be questioned, police said. Higashi's grandson is to be charged with murder after being discharged from hospital, police said.

These morons always get the order wrong. If one is dead-set on this end (pun intended), Off oneself FIRST. Then and only then can one move on to the next family member.

Just kill yourself first

Just look in the mirror and stab yourself.

Perhaps some of these cases are not 'depressed I want to die but first I'll take someone with me' events. Maybe, in some cases, the person snaps in rage and kills someone and only then in dispair, remorse or simply prefering death over the sure jail sentence they know is coming....they try to off thrmselves?

mark of a true coward, do unto others but unable to do your own sorry self

Easy to judge without all the facts. Not saying the grandson can justify it but it is quite possible he was being abused etc. But speculating this is as silly as speculating anything else based on the information in the story above.

I don;t care what mental or stress related issues he may or may not have had. He would have been doing eeryone else a favor by offing himself instead of being a coward and offing some of his family first.

I agree with the lets wait and see scenario. There maybe a lot more to this story than simply murder. You have to be a lunatic psychopath to do something like this or have been pushed to a breaking point.

Article states: "seven family members reportedly live together,"

Must had constant conflicts. Not easy to live with this many people, let alone different generations that never understands or listens to younger generations. Maybe he didn't have a job but his family kept nagging at him. The best situation for him was to move out long time ago and pursue his own life. Now he will be in jail until he rots.

I wonder if it was the lethal question "stop playing games and get a jonb!"

All he had to do is move out, otherwise they will abuse you for their own entertainment ,i can see that this is the work of someone who was overly pushed, if you see that pple dont like you move on rather than be in a confrontation.
