USA are lucky, these financial crimes are emerging just when they need money desperately, lol.

Alex: Indeed. Japanese firms, on the other hand, are being screwed. Rightly so, mind you. They all seem to be Japanese, too, or is it just that we're not hearing about other cases because this is a Japanese news site?

There have been some Korean, Mexican, and Brazilian companies as well, but mostly Japanese which makes sense seeing how they make most of the electronic products for the world.

They're pleading guilty to keep authorities from digging deeper into their business! $21 million really isn't much for giant companies such as Hitachi-LG and I'll be they'll be back to business as usual soon.

Price Fixing really pisses me off! If my I phone is too expensive because of price fixing by Apple etc..well I do hope they get hit too and SOON!

Not sure this is Apple's fault. I wish the Japanese gov't would look into Japanese companies for price fixing as well. Docomo, AU, and Softbank to be specific. How does calling a mobile cost 40 yen a minute, when places like the US and Korea offer minutes plans and free nights and weekend calling?

Maybe do US prefer to target japanese firms than the domestic ones? Also this is a possibility. In Italy there are massive fiscal checks against chinese firms, so it's a common idea that Chinese evade taxes more than Italians. I think it could be mainly because they are more checked than the Italians, actually.
