Human foot found on Akita beach

A human foot was discovered on a beach in Oga City, Akita Prefecture, on Monday afternoon. According to police, a 30-year-old man discovered the foot while walking along Unosaki beach about 3 p.m.

The foot had not yet begun to decay and had all five toes attached to it, police said, adding that the age and gender of the victim is unknown. Police on Tuesday began searching for more remains along the beach, and declined to comment whether the limb was severed in an accident, or if foul play was involved.

There's been a bit of this - medical waste perhaps?

Unsure of gender? check for hair on the toe knuckles!!

I doubt its medical waste, random limbs are not that common. Seems like body disposal piece by piece.

i heard there were some body parts found near Aomori last month, and those body parts were of North Koreans trying to come to japan on a small boat.. The foot might belong to one of the North Koreans.. says my japanese friend.

I thought so as well, as male and female feet have different shapes, but a prepubescent boy could resemble a young woman. Could be a child's foot :(

How could it be an accident? Somebody would have claimed at the hospital to have lost a foot. Looks more like crime :(

On the east coast of Canada last year over a period of several months there were at least 8 or 9 human feet that washed up on shore, some in sneakers. Hopefully, this isn't the beginning of a similar sequence of events.

i was a volunteer lifeguard in the late 90's at Kuneguma Kaigan in Kanagawa. I worked there for 3 summers and every summer at least 2 to 3 bodies would wash ashore and be discovered by the lifeguard staff. Some in all their clothes, some naked, some with missing body parts. Every time the cops would say, "nantoka, nantoka, yakuza, nantoka". I didn't hear Chinese or Korean so there didn't seem to be too much racial profiling. Go figure....

Could be the nantoka nantoka yakuza crime. The yakuza love to settle scores with those that dont pay up, betray them etc..by cutting them up to pieces, and letting the oceans, rivers etc..do the rest.

Shark, everybody out of the water

It is quite possible for it to be an accident, somebody falls off a boat & gets chopped up by the propeller, not very likely, but possible & under those circumstances they are not very likely to call in at the nearest hospital & report a missing appendage.
