Police arrested a 54-year old man on Sunday after he entered the Ibaraki home of his older brother and allegedly stabbed him.

According to police, the suspect, Hisao Fukuda, lived in the same apartment complex as his older brother, and at around 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, went into his brother's apartment and stabbed him in the thigh with a knife. The brother was rushed to the hospital but died soon after.

Police said they had received a report that the two brothers had not gotten along for a while, but Fukuda was quoted as saying that he did not intend to kill his brother.

Woke up on Sunday, had his tea and brunch and then decided to go to his brother's apartment and stab him in the leg! Lesson: If you don't get along with your sibling, move far, far away.

I guess you watch quite a lot of romance movies, dolphingirl. I bet you, it got to be O'sake and O'tsumami.....not "tea and brunch"

Wait, what? ... He didn't intend to kill him? Then what was the point? Who just up and decides one day, 'Hey, I think I'll go stab someone in the thigh for kicks!'? Come on now. This dude sounds not quite all there. Either that, or in denile.

What country and year is this? A stab wound to the leg is not fatal. Pressure on the wound, tourniquet, and you don't need to bleed to death. Oh wait, I forgot, this is Japan, first you have to call the police, then they have to determine if you need an ambulance, then the ambulance drivers (who couldn't possible know how to do something that I learned in boy scouts many years ago) carefully and politely drive the guy to the hospital.

If the femoral artery was severed, he would have had only a few minutes to live.

People tend to underestimate knife-wounds most turn out deadlier than a gun-shot wound.

Also much of the damage with a stab-wound is done by an unskilled person removing the knife/object.

Sad story and I think there is lot we haven't heard yet.
