I misread that as Illegal drone fights...

68 cases and 77 arrested? my drone has only one pilot.

Some of the accused were foreigners who flew drones over popular tourist destinations such as Himeji Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site in western Japan.

I'm sure these foreigners are not aware of the drone laws. Btw with the future of drones this number will surely raise.

The drone operator should have their flying license just like driver license to make sure they fly their drones comply with law!

So I guess that I've been filming surfing illegally, since the law says that drones are not allowed to fly around densely populated areas. Not many surf spots in Tokyo that are rural.

That's what happens with toothless lip-service laws. Now they're scrambling to think about how they can enforce it because they were too busy praising themselves over just announcing legislation.

Did the foreigners bring the drone with them? I doubt it, I bet they bought it in Japan, and the seller didn't tell them they can't use it. If the government wants to ban drones in some areas they need to enforce existing laws and make those who manufacture and sell them culpable if they do not warn buyers about the law.

The operators flying these things, you would think they would see the police closing in? I've been hit by a Toys R Us drone, it stung. Anything bigger and I'd be a tad vexed. Registration sounds good, An app that shows where is OK and where is not would probably help emensley.

Personal responsibility is a hallmark of a free society. Get arrested. Pay the fine. Go to jial. But it's just dumb to think you can start regulating a lecture for the stupid things that some poeple will do.

oh, bye the way, did you not understand the numbers that the police have reported?

I fly mine around rivers and the ocean areas, so far no issues . I also fly over heavily forested areas.

You have to be 20 buy fags and booze and sellers have signs or machines informing you of that. I don't see why these rules on informing the buyer can't apply to drones.
