Japanese have been getting kidnapped and beheaded well before Japan's recent changes to it's military.

NessieOct. 04, 2015 - 08:30AM JST Japanese have been getting kidnapped and beheaded well before Japan's recent changes to it's military.

And how many political kidnappings or murders by Islamist groups before the SDF went to the Middle East?

How many were there of any foreigners before the US invasion of Iraq in 2003?

Or are you suggesting that Japan did something really bad by sending the JSDF on a humanitarian mission to build water purification, reconstruction and reestablishment of public facilities that deserves kidnapping and beheading as retribution?

"So, two people then, the latter of whom was not beheaded."

Islamists murdered killed 10 Japanese in Algeria a couple of years ago. That had nothing to do with Japan's military posture. They were killed simply because they weren't Muslim.

"Bangladesh the failed state is a breeding ground for religious fanatics, cultural extremists."

So is South Yorkshire and suburban Stockholm. The "germ" in this "breeding ground" is always militant Islam.

When Abe declare "SENSEN FUKOKU' to Japanese people on NHK, you can accuse Abe but helping surrounding countries that has been fighting against ISIS has no meaning of declaration of war in Japanese language,

It's hard to ascribe much rationality to Islamic fanatics. Boko Haram actually killed several North Korean medical volunteers during a raid in northern Nigeria a few years ago. Not because of North Korean policy, but because they just wanted to kill anyone who looked like an outsider. The same is probably true in Bangladesh. They don't see "Japanese;" they see "East Asian," and that's enough to trigger their violent tendencies.

I went back to read what she wrote in Japanese language and found errors of translation in English. Especially big numbers. Oku in Japanese id not Billion in American English. oku is 100 million, not billion, €€ He mentioned 2 oku doru, This is $200 million.

He defined Iraq,Syrian as Nanmin. People who are already in Turky and Lebanon as hinanmin.

He was talking to help economic growth in region. Inclusing JINZAi KAIHATSU,

He is thinking there like Japan has been helping SE Asia, Maybe dreaming like Japan Inc dominated US industry?

This is just part of what I call a 1000 year war against western values and japan is now part of the west post ww2. Prepare for more insanity like this news story. It can happen anywhere now. And will.

Well interestingly enough, the 10 deadliest school massacres/shootings in modern times were ALL perpetrated by self-proclaimed "Islamic" militants. From Beslan to Peshawar to Iraq to Kenya to Syria to several incidents in Nigeria. Every last one. Other "secular" school massacres don't show up until a ways further down the list.

And the Oregon individual apparently described himself as "biracial" rather than "white."

Isn't Bangladesh the place where extremists have been targeting liberal bloggers in recent years?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Bangladesh is a failed state. In my opinion the web of causality for its failure is too complex to simplify to a single cause, but once again - like MENA states - you see it's a state which was partly shaped by a European empire (Great Britain in this case), partly shaped by partition post-WW2, and then further shaped by a war to separate from what is now Pakistan. It's been led by corrupt families who have kept the country under their powerful thumbs since.

On a side note, US president Nixon as part of his mission to befriend China helped Pakistan in its war with Bangladesh, which at that time contributed to the miseries suffered by Bangladeshis.

Why Mr. Hoshi (RIP) was murdered is a mystery at this point, but if I take an Occams Razor look at it I would have to think it's a combination of business gone bad and religious fanaticism, with special emphasis on the latter. Bangladesh the failed state is a breeding ground for religious fanatics, cultural extremists.

tinawatanabe: "Abe did not declare a war on IS. Could you show evidence?"

I really need to remind you what you've chosen again to forget? Alright.

Since you have forgotten, Abe pledged $200M for countries fighting ISIS, as well as aid to said nations, along with help for those who have suffered under the regime. While the latter is all fine and well, the former is, sorry, but a declaration of war. Immediately after he made this declaration, ISIS made the videos of the two Japanese men, deliberately demanding a $200M ransom for their release. They then proceeded to behead the men when the bombast increased.

Not surprised Ossan can't answer the question about how many Japanese were beheaded before Abe's declaration against ISIS, you know since he claimed it was all going on "well before".

Correct if I'm wrong but isn't the Japanese translator of Satanic Verses was murdered by a Bangladeshi, Japan-sponsored scholar? If so, there's really a bad blood in between.

Bangladesh is a country with more than 150M inhabitants. I have been there a few times for business and found it quite safe and stable. But 1 or 2 idiots - like they are called in the US school shootings - may be used by the IS for propaganda. Please stop the psychosis when irrelevant.

Are you sure of population count? 150 M is almost twice Japan's population. Where all those people living?

ONLY beheaded after Abe's declaration of war on IS.

Abe did not declare a war on IS. Could you show evidence?

0 ( +9 / -9 )

The Koda Shosei case took place in 2004, during the Koizumi administration. The Saito Akihiko case was the following year, in 2005. Both were carried out in Iraq.

@jefflee The "germ" in this "breeding ground" is always militant Islam.

Beg to differ: the germ is usually a cultural extremist with a gun, e.g. the latest domestic white terrorist in Oregon.

I do agree, though, that militant Islamic extremists are as frightening and probably more so than the various other extremists found worldwide.

@couversaka Fanatics of any sort, including Islamic fanatics, don't behave rationally.

smith

"ISILと闘う周辺各国に" is not equal to " declaration of war on IS". Please don't intentionally aggravate the situation.

As an Islamic leader in Yemen once said after missing a US warship and having to settle for a French cargo ship - "it doesn't matter - they are all infidels".

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Are you sure of population count? 150 M is almost twice Japan's population. Where all those people living?

The population of Japan is a little under 128 million. At 156.6 million to be exact, the population of Bangladesh is nowhere near 'almost twice'. Most of those 156.6 million live in ....Bangladesh.

SDF going to the middleeast , HAHAHA seems that you are frenzy a little bit , Once the trick is discovered you can't repeat it again in anyway thank god those bad american who want to drag the japanese fighter jewels to go after a bunch of nomads , They can kill each other will be much better ,

Abe is the Bush evolution but version 10.0

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Koda's body was returned to Japan. The events provoked mixed responses in Japan; while many Japanese citizens were angered and appalled by the murder, some blamed the victim and others criticized the Koizumi administration.

I am really surprised in some countries they always blame the murder or the countries which breed them unlike japan everytime that happens the japanese citizens blame either the victim or the government , Even if japan has a bad history it shouldn't be like that , But I am sure that if japan has the desire to wipe out all those muslim they will do it in matter of 1~2 years at max. But japan likes dealing and containing evil I suppose

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

@tiniwatanabe / @smithinjapan

ISILと闘う周辺各国に ---- ISIL to tatakau shuuhen kakkoku ni ---- neighbouring countries combat ISIL

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

couversaka: "The Koda Shosei case took place in 2004, during the Koizumi administration. The Saito Akihiko case was the following year, in 2005. Both were carried out in Iraq."

So, two people then, the latter of whom was not beheaded. What's the ratio, then, of those kidnapped and killed "well before" Abe and his government started putting Japanese in harm's way vs. after? 2:3? and don't forget this one was targeted and carried out specifically to address Japan's current stance on things.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

@smithinjapan

So how can you interpret as " declaration of war on IS" from this? Please don't try to make it worse.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

The population of Japan is a little under 128 million. At 156.6 million to be exact, the population of Bangladesh is nowhere near 'almost twice'. Most of those 156.6 million live in ....Bangladesh.

Wrong Answer ,japan import slave workers most of them from bangladesh as a cheap labor , Sure they import from china but due to rising tension nationalism they import it from those countries , that kind of habit is not present in japan only

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

IS needs to stay within the bounds of their own country and stop involving others.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Shame on Bangladesh. Japan has contributed billions of Yen in development aid and sent thousands of experts on everything from water purification to high-yield agriculture to help the Bangladeshi people over the past few decades.

And THIS is how Bangladeshis thank the Japanese?

Ingrates. Cut off the aid and tell any remaining Japanese in that nation to come home. They obviously aren't wanted over there.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

JeffLee: "Islamists murdered killed 10 Japanese in Algeria a couple of years ago. That had nothing to do with Japan's military posture. They were killed simply because they weren't Muslim."

EXACTLY! They were not targeted because they were Japanese, making Ossan's point completely invalid, and further strengthening my point and that of others that now Japanese are being SPECIFICALLY targeted because of the current government's stance.

tinawatanabe: "ISILと闘う周辺各国に"

You answered your own question, tina. Next you're going to be telling us this was his entire speech, and that Japan exporting arms and building their army, and changing the Pacifist Constitution are all in the name of peace.

OssanAmerica: "Japanese have been getting kidnapped and beheaded well before Japan's recent changes to it's military."

"Well before", eh? How many? When? Two were kidnapped, yes, and then ONLY beheaded after Abe's declaration of war on IS. Now this has occurred BECAUSE of said war, and IS specifically says "against the crusader countries". So please stop suggesting this is a mere 'coincidence' in a sad attempt to deflect the fact that it is instead a result of Abe's policies. And now Bangladesh has been dragged into it. Since they have, though, here's hoping that they can crack down on the group, given they are operating directly on their soil and hurting their interests.
