Drug use is not dangerous if people know how to use them in moderation and responsibly. It is as simple as that. I doubt it was the MDMA that caused this incident.

There other powers that may free these two, or rub them out, whichever is more expedient.

Wow, blotter acid. Haven't heard about that stuff in years.

Unlike Japanese 19-year-olds, this Italian was an adult, knew what he was doing and did it. These two Japanese peddlers, were also adults, knew what they were doing and did it. No amount of "education" is going to change that, and no amount will stop it from happening again. These two were obviously partiers and hooked into the rave scene. Now they will pay the price for getting caught. I'm all for experimentation, but if you are going to play the game, you have to risk it all. They all did.

Photographs of the suspects have been released by Italian police in Bologna, and can be seen at The Mainichi Daily News... (This website will not allow them to be posted.)

I think the biggest problem is the fact that this 19-year-old had consumed enormous amounts of drugs and alcohol. If teens were better educated about the effects of all drugs, perhaps this boy would have made better choices. Sad for his parents.

Illegal drugs are out of control and the world had better wake up to this fact and do something about it before it's too late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish people would just remember to JUST SAY NO TO DRUGS, but, some just go along, go with the flow and here we have the terrible results. ME? Hell no to drugs! RIP poor Italiano bambino ciao!

Do you think that these Japanese in Italy are associated with yakuza?

Very possible - the calabrian or sicilian mafiosi must have some type of alliance with Japanese crime gangs. Yamaguchi Gumi have been peddling shabu for decades. In my country - Aus - it's the motorbike gangs that do it, not the mafia. There will always be an outlaw mob willing to supply the market - and these 2 idiots were at the bottom of the heap and will do some serious time now.

Where do you live in Japan? Not Tokyo, I gather.

In Tohoku, sure not as expensive as Tokyo - but I've never felt eating/going out/staying in Tokyo is too extortionate! Rome, one of the best cities I've ever had the pleasure of visiting, was super expensive - however I did stick to the tourist areas which are probably double what the locals pay. And I was pretty skint at the time too! Regardless, I'm gonna go back to that awesome place!

"the cripplingly expensive city of Rome"

I've been to Rome, not as expensive as many other cities.

Where do you live in Japan? Not Tokyo, I gather.

With the comment "Japanese just love their stimulants, and have for years" I don't know any Japanese who do. The only people I can think of are people in or associated with the criminal organizations known as yakuza. And it seems that North Korea is the source of a large percentage of the stimulants being sold in Japan.

Do you think that these Japanese in Italy are associated with yakuza? Maybe connections in Brazil, where there is a large Japanese community?

MDMA can cause a dangerous increase in body temperature that can lead to kidney failure. MDMA can also increase heart rate, blood pressure, and heart wall stress

Los Angeles County coroner's officials said Tuesday that Sasha Rodriguez, the 15-year-old girl hospitalized after attending the Electric Daisy Carnival rave in June, died as the result of an overdose of MDMA, a drug commonly known as Ecstasy.

Yes, ecstasy can kill you.

BurakiminDes.

I disagree, you don't get hold of that number of stimulants from South America without contacts/funds nor can you bring them into another country that easy. Just don't wash like "it is my friends case", etc.

Agree with R.I.P. to the guy.

BTW - R.I.P. to the Italian man.

I feel a bit for these Japanese. They likely had no language skills apart from Japanese, and were unable to find any job, and saw this as a way to earn a steady income and survive in the cripplingly expensive city of Rome. The Japanese just love their stimulants, and have for years - so selling them in Europe was an easy option for these two.

Yes, DuraA, Yukari Miyoshi is gaijinized.

I surely hope this will get aired in Japan. But I am not holding my breath

I just a news clip where they aired this. Their faces were covered but I could see that the guy had a shaved head and his ears pierced.

To Paulinusa:

Since when does LSD and Ecstasy cause massive damage to kidneys, liver and heart. A contributing factor maybe, but not the primary cause of death.

Ignoring the fact that this drug is illegally made, and hence we have no idea what other chemicals were in it, a simple search on the internet shows:

Physical Damage from Ecstasy Use

The greatest dangers Ecstasy abusers face in the short term are super-elevated body temperature and dehydration. These are typical side effects, which can occur with any use, and they can be deadly.

On the other hand, if abusers drink too much water too quickly, they can face equally deadly dangers. Too much water drunk too quickly dilutes the level of sodium in the blood. With too little sodium, water is sucked into the brain cells under osmotic pressure, causing them to swell. This increases pressure on the brain stem, which controls heart and breathing functions. Brain swelling can lead to coma and death.

Now...heart and lung damage can be linked....voila!

Contributing factors are precisely that by the way..they contributed to his death...

Sad when anybody gets involved in drugs and dies! RIP

It's only appeared on Japanese website news, nothing on the tube, according to my wife.

Wow! 5,000 acid trips and heaps of eckies! That's some serious raving. I wonder if these Japanese will rollover and squeal as is done in Japan. It could be the start of something big in the anti-drug war.

Life sentence for both, italian prisons are nothing to play with. Maybe they can rise through the ranks of Godfather while they are in prison.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Heh, italy here, this news is unheard of. Here is the first time I read about it. Neither newspapers nor tvnews have talked about this (yet?).

I surely hope this will get aired in Japan. But I am not holding my breath. I also hope the Italian media runs with this one. They can place it side-by-side with the vandalism story from a few years back. Exaggerate to all ends and make Italy an uncomfortable choice for J-tourists. Nah, it'll never happen. Too much dough to be made from J-tourism.

Couldn't agree more "Pukey2." Isn't this just a burn that the shoe is now on the other foot? Japanese nationals supplying the evil to kill innocent youth.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

This is a bit like the "evil foreigner in Roppongi who supplies drugs to innocent Japanese, getting them into trouble or worst, killing them", but with the nationalities and countries reversed.
