That woman is evil through and through and despite her age needs to swing. She has absolutely no remorse and is flaunting it in front of the legal system

This woman is pure evil.

5 ( +10 / -5 )

Death by a broken neck, much faster, and far less painful than cyanide. Let her rot.

2 ( +8 / -6 )

Killing her will not help her victims. Two wrongs don't make a right.

0 ( +6 / -6 )

Swing with that evil smile, lady.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

How long will she have to wait before the Sentence is carried out ?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

She won't be smiling waiting ten years or more on Japan's Desolation Row. Time for her to repent at leisure and realize the vanity of material wealth.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Many people here seem to take pleasure at wishing her to Hang, though I wonder if it would be the same, were they to be the one who escorts her to the Scaffold, Puts the rope around her neck, and pulls the trap door lever ?

0 ( +8 / -8 )

Hanging is too good for her. Let her rot in prison.

@mmw

Good point. But you’re encouraging the sickos who get off on imagining themselves thus involved....

2 ( +5 / -3 )

I'm a bit puzzled as to why some cold blooded murders get the rope, while others don't. A bit of consistency would help.

This old lady seems ordinary woman. Her mind must be very sick.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Killing her will not help her victims. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Killing inocent is evil. Killing evil is not and helps victims with rightful revenge.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

The dementia angle looks to be persuasive, and as the article says this, will probably drag on.

Despite the fact that she admitted one of the murders, she later retracted it, saying she had no recollection.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

It would have been unthinkable for another sentence to be given. I mean she did this out of pure evil, no mental problems or money problems to justify it by any means.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Yeah, the -1 person... I dare you to just try and justify why she should be left alive!

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Killing her will not help her victims.

The victims include not only the deceased but their families and friends.

PS-other similarly minded women out there may think twice about committing such a crime.

Net win for us all.

Pass her the rope. I hope the Kanagawa killer gets same.

in general I agree, but for her, I'd have zero trouble and I'm not a vindictive person by nature.

And not for nothin, but either they were VERY lonely, or she was very skilled in the "physical arts."

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Good!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

I wonder if it would be the same, were they to be the one who escorts her to the Scaffold,

Those taking part in the procedure are all volunteers. But:

I wonder if you would think the same should one of your loved one be poisonen and killed in tremendous pain?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

If this was a man, tricking elderly female lovers and poisoning them, would it be less controversial to say that the sentence is just? Equality, right?

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

What would be the point in NOT hanging her? She planned the killings down to the finest point, even preparing the legal documents. She has no remorse, and instead lies to try to get away with it.

Her entire existence is based on greed, lies and murder. Society doesn't need to keep this "person" around.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

She won't get the rope, the execution still require the Minister of Justice sign off, which won't happen in this case. she'll die in the prison.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I'm a bit puzzled as to why some cold blooded murders get the rope, while others don't. A bit of consistency would help.

Yes, there isn't a lot of consistency in sentencing. I agree with the death penalty in this case, but I would also like to see it used on other murder cases and harsher sentences for the pedofiles and rapists. Crimes against women and children just get a slap on the wrist after the criminal give a heat felt apology.

If this was a man, tricking elderly female lovers and poisoning them, would it be less controversial to say that the sentence is just? Equality, right?

What was the sentence of the guy who killed the UK English teacher and hid her body, and then escaped the police for years by jumping off of his balcony? He is male and came from a respected family.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Here's a better sentence, turn her over to the victim's families. Let's see how fast she'll "die smiling"!

If I am going by trend, multiple murders get the death penalty. If the multiple murders include children, life imprisonment. Single murders get prison time and the number of years vary. Ichihashi got life perhaps because he evaded authorities for a few years.

Killing her will not help her victims. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Neither would putting her in prison help her victims, why won't it help her victims? Because they are already dead. Just because a prison sentence or an execution doesn't help the victims doesn't mean the sentence isn't correct.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

It’s a very malicious incident. The defense lawyer’s side insisted on not guilty because she was suffering from dementia and lack of ability to accept responsibility and trial.

In japan while entering a super aging society, I expected that such criminal defendants who have become dementia will continue to increase. Anyway what will become of her family from now on because of her mistake?
