Despite the death sentence, he told the Mainichi Shimbun he wanted to now "meet an ordinary girl" and get married while in jail.

Who in their right mind would want to be married to you? Just send him off already, he's a waste to taxpayers' money to be housed, fed and clothed.

That’s not all that’s going to “drop” for

him.

The loser woman who wishes to marry this animal should be locked up in a mental hospital. If she even exists.

The garbage needs to be hung and disposed of ASAP.

RIP to the victims.

I downvoted you and will explain why. Your post exacerbates the negative stigma faced by people with mental illnesses.

This guy is extremely sick in his mind.

Is it pertinent to his trial concerning his future plans?

Despite the death sentence, he told the Mainichi Shimbun he wanted to now "meet an ordinary girl" and get married while in jail.

What? Why? I am sure he can find some nutcase who will marry him in jail (there always seems to be one in cases like this), but it won´t be an "ordinary girl".

You'll be surprised how many people fall/are in love with people who have committed heinous crimes.

Didn't a 26 year old marry Charles Manson in 2014? Or even the other day during John Lennon's death anniversary, I read that the killer and his wife are still married and get alone time once a year.

Shiraishi's crime reignited debate about suicide prevention in Japan, which has the highest suicide rate among the Group of Seven leading democracies.

Efforts to reduce suicides had led to a decline in recent years, but numbers have been rising again in the wake of the pandemic

I worry a bit about possible copy-cat crimes under the current circumstances.

As for Japan's death penalty, I don't yet have a solid position. It seems unworkable for criminals of his type. As it is the highest and exclusive penalty, the inmates do not have to engage labor work until the last day. No repentance is needed, and they have no obligation to tell all the truth once the case being closed.

In Japan, the execution schedule is usually delayed a lot though by law the Justice Department shall make an order within half a year after the sentence is finalized. The inmates may "enjoy" the rest of life without worrying about livelihood or any life hardship... for years even a decade! Sure they are allowed to get married.

I wonder if there is any alternative to attain the better public safety as well as the sense of closure for victims and surviving families.

Agreed, The garbage needs to be hung and disposed of ASAP.

Somehow Japanese jails don't seem like the kind of places for conjugal visits. Maybe Lennon's killer and Manson get conjugal visits in America but I cannot imagine Japanese jailers doing the same. So legally he can tie the knot but I can't see them allowing consummation of the marriage inside the maximum security location where capital cases are lodged.

Don't worry - I'm sure he'll find someone to...tie the knot.

He should only be allowed to 'marry' the cold, hard pillow in his prison cell.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

How does the saying go? There's someone for everyone. Hopefully not in this case. I am surprised that this would be allowed in a Japanese prison.

I bet the girls are just lining up for this one. Girls like bad boys right?

Sweet mullet.

Doesn’t it have several Boyfriends in JAIL already?

He shouldn't killed those suicide wanna-bes from the beginning. And he should have married one of those girls.

If you think about it some more.... A girl under bullying, domestic violent, sexual harassment and the like, that’s obvious her biggest chance and possible career jump ever. Marrying under the eyes of paparazzi, TV statements, weekly articles, writing and publishing books about him, herself, life with a death rower in general. Come on...that’s more possibilities than you would win some lotteries in the same year. lol

You will be surprised if you check up how many jailed murderers have a whole fan club of women who want to marry them.

Maybe Lennon's killer and Manson get conjugal visits in America.

God I sure hope Manson ISN’T getting conjugal visits, considering he’s been dead for three years.

I’d make a terrible lawyer: I have too much human empathy to stand up in court with a straight face and argue that my client’s sentence should be reduced because his victims “wanted to die”. His attorney needs to bottle and sell whatever helps him sleep at night...

The whole story is a total nightmare. He sounds like a psychopath. Those type of people are extremely self centered. At this point it doesnt matter what he wants.

Not in Japan though. Read that sometimes women marry a convicted killer to get a detailed account of the crime and later make a book out of it and perhaps a movie rights after. It looks like a collab effort between the criminal and the woman. An enterprising effort in the midst of the pandemic!

@Hooktrunk, I've read that not only deathrow criminals are allowed to marry. Some female inmates gets some free intimate time and gets pregnant while in jail.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Just extinguish his pathetic life already. It’s a crime to keep him alive this long

2 ( +2 / -0 )

There are loads of people out there interested in marrying murderers in prison. Look at Charles Bronson (no, not that one). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CharlesBronson(prisoner)

so now he wants to meet an 'ordinary girl', marry her and then what? Kill her too? Forget it! Put this creep in the can and never let him out again, he's nuts.
