Tip of the iceberg and nothing will come of it.
When do neo-feudal lords face consequences? Plebes must know their place.

And the news story here is what? This is not shocking or surprising, corrupt governments exist everywhere but some countries are more bold and more corrupt than others that is all.

This has gone on for far too long! The LDP has to go and take its cults with it!
Spitfire
While the masses struggle to make ends meet the LDP are splashing the cash so much that they don't even know how much a cup of coffee costs let alone a bunch of spinach costs.
I would reckon the disconnect between the government and voters is the widest in Japan than any other country.
Yet.....the voters will still elect the party that is dissing them so much.
Dumbfounded.

Nice! That’s how we roll with thick wallets.

Don't forget the Cabinet's Secret Fund, mentioned on JT last week, to pay anything, few questions asked, receipt not required.
Total Unaccountability. Result of familial politicians who know nothing of the real world.

what a japanese demokrashiiiiii...with endless pockets than silly bowing comedies on front of cameras...s.it happens

Actually this is the real world.

YUP, Rotten to the CORE, not surprised at all.

Slush funds are what right wing parties excel at, jimin being world class at generating them.

They threw the funding impropriety book at that Tohoku interloper Ozawa Ichiro, who had the temerity to canvas ideas beyond the pale of what they were prepared to accept. Yet they have zero hesitation in employing the same 金権政治 strategies when they deem it expedient, read stonewalling anything that poses a threat to their oligarchic stranglehold over the nation.

Not another scandal?
“How long, how long must we sing this song?”

Not really surprised are we?
Finally seems they have caught Kishida with his hand in the cookie jar.
And don't forget Kishida was also led that same faction. Wonder why they omitted his name maybe looking to scapegoat Abe ???

Actually Kishida leads the more moderate Kochikai faction. Abe's lot are Seiwa Seisaku Kenkyūkai. Funny how it turns out the most right-wing faction is also the most crooked.

Hardly anyone votes for the LDP really... but it doesn't matter too much thanks to the electoral system.

Until the public decides to fund fair political contests equally, there's always going to be graft involved. Remove financing from politics.
Make those who want to run for office collect signatures from voters in the district to receive any public funding for their campaigns and agree to never accept outside funding. This way, the politicians will actually represent the people in their district, not corporate or special interests.

Not saying the allegations aren't true, but who exactly is making said allegations, and with what evidence? Enquiring minds want to know!

What!!!!...A political party allegedly acting fraudulently, No, I cannot possible believe that............Oh wait, there's a herd of red elephants flying over my house right now.......In the dark!!

I was looking for this story in the Politics section. The Crime section is much better for anything related to the LDP.

Sounds like an excellent idea. Unfortunately no legislation to enact such sweeping changes will pass legislatures filled with members whose cushy careers depend on things staying the way they are.
